Health & Safety:
Campus Is Safe and Has Great Health Facilities – Belmont feels like an oasis in the middle of Nashville; Nashville is already a very safe city but when you enter campus, you immediately feel secure and comfortable. Security will escort you late at night for extra safety. Their health services are magnificent. We have an on campus walk-in clinic and pharmacy.

Hot and humid until the end of September. Cold winters with little snow, but occasionally some ice. Rainy, mild springs. Storms can be serious threats and it's not rare to have to head to the basement a few times during spring semester. Not much to complain about though, and campus is small if weather gets rough.

The caf gets old after a week. Typical greasy food, but it usually tastes all right. I'm sure it's possible to eat healthy, but it probably requires intense effort. Hours are odd, especially for dinners. I prefer the Curb or Corner Court, which take dining points or bruin bucks. Unfortunately they force students to buy a meal plan when living in a dorm. At least the workers are usually friendly and helpful.

Perfect College City – Nashville is the perfect city to go to school in. Plenty of concerts in music city, professional sports teams, shopping, history downtown nightlife, great food, and lots of other universities. Some immediate areas around Belmont can be dangerous, but campus is safe and Hillsboro/Vandy are within walking distance and great places to hang out off-campus.

Tough to Find. I parked in the Curb all year and dreaded leaving campus during the week. It was near impossible to find a spot during the day without circling for 20 minutes first. After 5pm was usually okay, as well as weekends if there wasn't a big event. It wasn't too close to my dorm, which could be a pain. Never had any problems with tickets or fines. Permits are free and easy to register for online!

Good Teams. Lack of Enthusiasm. The basketball team is pretty good, making it to the NCAA Tournament for several years now. First on the Floor, Battle of the Boulevard, Homecoming and the Tournament are the big events and create an excited buzz on campus. Otherwise games aren't too packed. The baseball team is successful as well, but most sports are pretty average and the school lacks enthusiasm for sports.

Dry Campus – It's a dry, Christian campus, and if you don't want to partake in that lifestyle you don't see or hear about it too much. Probably just depends on who you make friends with and what you like to do with your free time. I've never felt any pressure to drink or do drugs.

Great Atmosphere – Belmont has been better than I ever imagined. Beautiful, though small, Southern campus. Amazing faculty and academics. Nice dorms. Friendly, fun peers. Good sports teams. Creativity is always present on campus. Opportunities of the city at your doorstep.

Great Learning Environment – Very helpful and knowledgeable teachers with small class sizes. Great to get to know other students and your prof. Workload really depends on the teachers and classes you sign up for. Though some profs/courses will be better than others, I haven't had a bad experience yet.

There are a lot of open computers, as many students choose to print from their rooms. I haven't spent much time in the computer labs, as I usually use my laptop. The computers in the library often get crowded as we have one printer for the entire University and you need to log on to a library computer to access it. The other issue is that the library computers are PCs but the school recommends that it's students purchase Macs, so every student hopes the format doesn't change too badly when they print off papers. The school is gradually updating all of it's library computers to Macs so the solution will be fixed. Printing on campus costs five cents per page which isn't bad but when you have lengthy reports it adds up. Make sure you have a lot of extra change. There are three wireless networks and depending where you sit on campus reliability can be sketchy and slow, especially during registration. If you live in an on campus apartment you need to get your own internet router.

Guys & Girls:
Fewer Boys Than Girls – There are more girls than guys on our campus but there is a good varity of girls and guys. Everyone on campus is very attractive too! The one downside is that the guys are not the best at socializing.

I Love My Major – I love being a Entrepreneurship major, it give me a chance to take classes in every area in business. I just wish there were more ways to get to meet other people in the same program. Overall I feel that Entrepreneurship is a great and interesting major.

Lots of White Students Yet Improving – Belmont University is trying to become more diverse and I will give them a little extra credit for that. Hopefully in a few years it will be better. However, for the most part it is currently comprised of a lot of white christian students with a handful of other races, religions, and international students.

Food Is Okay – The caf is not great. The meat in the entree line often has a lot of fat or bones in it and is not very appealing, nor are the vegetables served with it. The sandwiches and wraps available are alright. It's hard to eat healthy and enjoy what you're eating. There are always burgers and pizza available which are pretty good, but not good for you. The salad bar is pretty good. Other places around campus require dining points and are decent enough, but not amazing, and dining points run out quick.

Christian School – Belmont's status as a Christian school means a very strict drug and alcohol-free policy. I know a good amount of people who still do drugs on campus, but they're usually smart enough to not get caught. I have never experienced any peer pressure to do drugs at Belmont and the use is not widespread. When caught, students are suspended or expelled. Belmont has zero tolerance for drug use on campus.

Easy Enough – Belmont's audition process is pretty easy to navigate. Their requirements are clearly posted on their website, and you arrive in Nashville knowing pretty much everything to expect. If there was anything you hadn't been informed about, you're informed about it by the time you get to your actual audition. The whole process moves very smoothly. You have to be talented to get into the commercial music program, but you don't have to be amazing. There are many amazing musicians here at Belmont, but there are more than a few vocalists who are subpar. The judges of the auditions seem to listen more for potential than already existing ability.

I have found a wonderful community of friends at Belmont. The Nashville scene is a ton of fun for college students. There are things to do at all hours of the night within 10 min driving distance. I personally love the Christian community. However, visitation rules for students living in the dorms are very annoying. That's my one regret about Belmont life - it's a total pain to hang out on campus with the opposite gender after 11pm weekdays, 1am weekends.

One of the Best Music Programs in the Nation – There are only about 12 schools in the US that offer contemporary music as a major. I am VERY happy at Belmont! I'm a Commercial Music major, my principal instrument is voice, and my emphasis is performance. I've only been there a year, but I've already improved by leaps and bounds! I'm surrounded by so many talented musicians all the time who I can collaborate with, and Nashville has such a wonderful music scene. I have no doubts that I can get gigs around town. The question is whether I can make a living - but that's always an iffy question in music. I highly recommend Belmont's commercial music program.

It's very hard to find a parking spot. Especially if you live in one of the older dorms. They'll make you park across campus.

Definitely Low-Key – I'm not a Belmont Greek myself, but there isn't really that much of a presence on campus. There's Greek Week and things like that, but it's definitely not a major thing. The majority of Greeks aren't your stereotypical frat guys and sorority girls. I actually kind of like that better. That's just how Belmont is.

Zero Tolerance! I am very satisfied with how Belmont handles drug and alcohol use. I as a student do not want to be around that, and I am glad that Belmont upholds such a strong stance against it. Most students probably think that it would be safe to drink or use drugs as long as they don't do so on campus. This is not the case. If you are caught by authorities outside of school, it is reported to Belmont, and Belmont does not take something that serious very lightly.

No Place Like Home – Belmont's food is very lack luster. Everything is always missing seasoning so it all has a very bland taste. You are able to find some rare finds, but they are not healthy items which is what I tend to enjoy more. And also Belmont lacks to provide fruit at any meal which is vital to maintaing a healthy lifestyle. I would say to incoming freshman that they need to load up their dorms with foods they know they will enjoy.

Get Tired After a While, but Good Variety – As all schools, you eventually get sick of the cafeteria. Yes, Belmont offers a great variety for meals. So it's nice to either eat at one of the numerous places just across the street from campus, or you also have additional eateries on campus as well. So lots of options and variety will keep you from getting bored, just monitor your savings.

Nashville Is LOADED – Belmont is 3 miles from downtown. You can literally walk 2 blocks and hit up 21st Ave. which has SOOOOOOOO many food choices it will make you sick. If you REALLY want adventure in the food area, I cannot emphasize how many of the famous nashville restaurants are just a bus ride or walk away from campus.

Belmont's academic scholarships are actually really helpful, and it's easy to be awarded a scholarship upon entering. However, they offer little else for other degrees and majors unless you really dig deep to outside sources.
This applies to most schools though.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
