Guys & Girls:
Preppy Hipsters – Belmont is your typical "prep school": boys in khakis and polo, girls dressed up nice. Also, TONS of "hipsters"! Sorority life is less party, more community based. There is the party group (even a few drug busts now and then) and (of course) the music group (music in the quad anyone?). Guys and girls alike are both nice and accepting.

Great Little School – Belmont University a great little school, located right outside of the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. The staff and students are nice, the campus is beautiful, and the classes are small in size. Like any college, there are some cons. Parking is somewhat of an issue, "white" is the predominant ethnicity, and tuition is on the higher side. It appears that good majors to get into at BU include Music Business and Business (both highly recognized). Overall, Belmont University is a great school if you like things on the small scale and kind of toned down.

Some Issues Are Have More Attention Than Others – The biggest issues at Belmont are illegal drugs and alcohol in the dorm rooms and visitation hours. If you are caught with any illegal substance in your room, you will most likely be suspended or expelled. Violation of visitation hours (having someone of the opposite sex in a student's dorm room past designated hours) will result in being both students "written up" or given a mark. After a certain amount of marks or write ups, students will lose their privileges to visitation.

Unfortunately, Rather Average – Athletics haven't always been the biggest focus of my school; many of the athletes appear to be stuck-up and have a reputation for being proud. Many people don't support the athletic teams and choose to focus on their studies. The basketball team is the most supported sport in the school and I love attending their games in our stadium, but honestly many of the other athletic facilities are lacking compared to basketball.

Audio Engineering Technology – There are many students that are studying Audio Engineering Technology because Belmont is a great school for this industry. The programs are very in-depth and require a good amount of work outside of the classroom. The teachers are involved with the industry and understand the challenges of the industry, but they also know ways to succeed and are willing to give individual attention to students which I have experienced on a first hand basis.

Guys & Girls:
Hot but Stuck up – The girls at Belmont University tend to be beautiful. But most are either stuck up, cliquey, or prude. Their personalities are a flaw.

I've never used it, but apparently you can ride the MTA buses around Nashville for free. Sounds like a good option, if you can find a bus.

Parking is terrible on Belmont's campus. You should definitely invest in a bike or set up a car pool with friends.

Nashville Housing – There are numerous available houses/apartments/basements/whatever you could want for rent in Nashville.

Absolutely Awful – The dining hall at Belmont is just downright terrible. The food is always questionable. The food is labeled, but I still end up questioning it. Belmont supposedly has the Grade D food plan from Sodexo and I wouldn't be surprised if that were true. (Prisons have the Grade C food plan.) As a prospective student though, you wouldn't think this because they buff up the caf and they bring in better-tasting food just to persuade you to think that they serve good food. You're better off eating out of a trashcan.

If there's anything that I like about Belmont's campus, it would be the teachers. My classes have been so much fun and they are so engaging. I feel like I've been learning a lot in class. The teachers are all so friendly and are very good at what they do. I've never had a complaint about my teachers here at Belmont.

Music City – Belmont is full of musicians. The music business program offers a unique opportunity for aspiring rock stars, studio musicians, and contract lawyers. Nashville is an excellent town to get hands-on experience in the field, and the community is awesome for learning because virtually everyone around you is doing the same thing you are.

A Northerner's Heaven – Tornado season can be a bit of a beast, but the warm weather makes up for it. It snows very little, but all the rain makes up for it. And who can complain about 70 degrees in February?

House Hunters – Most off-campus housing options in Nashville are an actual house. You have to keep your eyes open for an affordable place that's close to campus, but typically it can be done. Find 3 or 4 roommates and your cost options are even better.

Small Community – Belmont is a small community that you feel a strong presence in if you want to. There are ways to get involved and meet new people which make it fun and exciting to be on campus. The teachers care about you and so does the rest of the school. People make an effort to get to know you and everyone feels safe on campus.

Public transportation basically does not exist in Nashville or at Belmont. They don't offer buses to get anywhere and the public transportation I don't think even stops near campus. You basically have to have a car or have friends that do to get anywhere that isn't walking distance.

There is always live bands or music playing downtown or any where around the city. Great food, lots of events going on. Great college town city. There are lots of sports events to attend to all year as well.

For a Music School They Are Awesome – The school is a music oriented school and does not have a football team because it's a private christian college. But nonetheless the basketball team is phenomenal and their other sports are awesome as well they have 17 NCAA Division 1 sports teams. IM sports is pretty big as well, they also have a rock wall which is amazing because I'm not big on sports but rock climbing is right up my alley.

The only time you will ever have to search for a computer/lab/sound booth is during finals because well lets face it no matter the size or spending limit each school has they can only have so many sound booths and mixing boards. But the technology on the computers is top notch Pro Tools on every computer and photoshop on the "art" computers it is heaven for any technology geek.

Nashville Is the Best College Town – Nashville is amazing, you have music, theater, art, and a great social aspect. If you like music this is the place for you or even just good BBQ Nashvilles a must. Belmont college offers the best education out their for anything music related and right next door is Vanderbuil. Both have excellent sports teams so this area is for every one; girls and guys that are into sports, good food, and those into the arts.

Great Policy – The policies at Belmont are wonderful. Without being suffocating, they maintain a very orderly and enjoyable campus atmosphere.

Any given night of the week at Belmont University, you can find multitudes of people playing music all over the place. There are concerts to attend, rehearsals going on etc. There are also often sporting events or greek life events.

Academic Excellence – Belmont University is an incredible school that demonstrates academic excellence and greatness in almost every regard. It's professors are knowledgable and helpful, class sizes are great, and course work is ideal.

I mainly use the public transportation if I were to go to the mall. It's always on time and there are always buses running for options of getting to places.

Belmont is located in the beautiful city of Nashville. It's a few miles from downtown, so there are quaint areas to go and shop in and find some coffee places to do homework in. It's a really fun area to go to school in and there is always a music venue to go to. Everyone is so friendly!
