Less Important Than Music – Belmont students aren't really that invested in our athletic teams until basketball season starts and we play Lipscomb in Battle of the Boulevard. We also came out to support the team when they made it to March Madness last year. But Belmont is mostly a music school - we get more excited about showcasing our amazing musicians than our athletes.

Students Are Good People – I've read some of the other reviews where people say everybody smokes marijuana...I don't know who "everybody" is, but my friends and I definitely don't. Belmont is a Christian school and most of the students here have high moral standards, so we don't mind that it's a dry campus. I've heard a few people complain about the smoking ban, though.

Not Much Experience – I don't have much experience with this because I've lived on campus all three years I've been here, but I have several friends who live off campus and they all seem to enjoy it. There are quite a few places to live right around Belmont's campus - some are even closer than the on-campus apartments! I hear it can be less expensive, too.

Health & Safety:
Belmont's security team (we call them B-Po) is awesome. Though it might take them a while to get to you, they're always willing to give you a lift around campus if you're sick or it's getting late. I've never felt unsafe here.

Belmont is a very white campus but is open to diversity in moderation. But i'm a minority and I love it here and feel very welcome.

The city bus runs to Belmont if you live off campus. Your best bet is to buy a car and get around the city that way. Belmont has two (for all 6,000 students) zip cars you can rent out and use around town for $7. Belmont is still a pretty small campus so you can walk anywhere. Security does offer nightly escorts which is always a plus.

Off-Campus for the Win! There are so many great apartment complexes around Belmont. Availability becomes a little harder once summer settles in but if you find an apartment fast, you're good to go. Prices are resonable for being in the city but it's best if you have another roommate or even two to split costs.

Housing for freshmen has become a lot better over the four years I've attended Belmont. New dorms were built and freshmen get the pick of the litter. The problems occur for the sophomores, juniors and seniors. You have four very expensive options to choose from: Kennedy Hall, Thrailkill Hall and then the apartments: The Commons and Hillside. These four are the most inconvenient on campus. The best option is to move off campus and save a little money.

Nothing. You're on You Own – Belmont doesn't really care about its students beyond getting them to enroll and attend the school. They only care about building the size of enrollment and getting more money.

You Have to Know – You have to know about party's they are kept pretty low key. Nashville is not the best town to live in while under the age of 21. THERE IS SOOOOO MUCH MUSIC I love this town

Marijuana Lovers – The drugs that are loved and cherished at BU is the one and only MARIJUANA. Everyone and their mom smokes it. Holla.

Guys & Girls:
Artsy Boys and Girl – Most people at Belmont are hipsters. They are Christian, music-loving hipsters.

Not Enough Parking – not enough parking. often times spaces are reserved for outside events. Shouldn't your students who are paying to go to school have parking priority? Everything else is good.

Extremely Unique – Belmont has many unique majors which is why I chose it. All of my professors have real-world experience. I wouldn't go anywhere else. It's more than an education, it's an opportunity to network and learn in a real world environment.

My experience is better than I could have possibly imagined. There are many opportunities to interact with other students as well as many things to go and do.

Our campus does have rules and visiting hours for the opposite sex ect. but i agree with all the rules and think that it is not that strict at all. We are a dry campus and tobacco free and I do not drink or smoke so I am completely ok with this.

the dorms are extremely nice compared to other schools. I love living on campus, however the cost is also extremely expensive so you have to suffer with the cost.

A Lot of Shopping, Great Food, and Wonderful Music – I never have a problem with finding great food and a variety of shopping. And of course Nashville has excellent music venues. I just wish there were more fairs or fun activities to do.

It's always easy to get a computer in the library even at crowded times during midterms and finals. Also, it is extremely easy to run in and print something within a 2-3 minute time period. The campus is almost completely wireless so there is always somewhere to get a good internet connection
Recent Alumnus 2011-09-20T12:59:20Z
Available but Could Be Improved – There are computer labs with printing access in multiple buildings across campus and a wireless network available everywhere, however, the wireless does occasionally get bogged down with an overload of users. You could probably get by without your own computer on campus but you would be one of the few who do.

There are many Greek students on Belmont's campus. I enjoy having them around because it's makes for a better social college atmosphere.

I love living in Patton Hall. Patton Hall, in particular, is a co ed freshman dorm. I love this because I feel like everyone in my dorm is on the same page as me. All of us have just moved away from home, and are making the transition to living on a college campus. I love Patton!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
