Health & Safety:
Police and Safety Services – The Belmont Campus Security is absolutely amazing! I feel completely safe living here at Belmont, and have never felt threatend or endangered.

Visitation Policy – The visitation policy can be a little too much I think. Although we're a Christian campus, it should still be allowed for students to visit whenever. There are certain regulations like these that don't allow students to create boundaries for themselves.

Got What I Came for – Belmont delivers everything a student would want to know about the entertainment business and a few other things such as nursing. I'm a little homesick, because I live 15 hours away, but the connections you make in the Industry here in Nashville are the only ones that level that of New York and Los Angeles.

Decent Network – The network speed and internet is fairly good on campus. I wish there was greater accessibility to print and use computers in all buildings but its fairly decent.

Health & Safety:
Safe Campus – I've barely ever felt unsafe on campus and I believe Belmont is very good at keeping students aware of whats happening through texts and emails. The staff and campus security are very professional with what they do.

Good Eating – There aren't a shocking amount of amazing restaurants in Nashville, but there are definitely a few. PM is literally right across the street from Belmont and they have the best burger I've ever had in my life. You can get another great burger at Burger Up only a few minutes away. There are also a few good pizza places and some good chains like Panera Bread and Chipotle within close proximity. The discounted dining areas for Belmont, however, aren't that great. A cheap fried chicken place and a lousy Quiznos is about all there is.
College Senior 2011-09-20T05:08:13Z
Music Business – My Music Business degree is very realistically addressed and taught to students. The job opportunities are abundant, but aren't paying all that much. The school specifically addresses, in a fairly balanced workload, the difficulties of the industry I'm seeking to go into yet they give you confidence to pull through as long you play close attention to the course material. The music opportunities on campus are also unique and extravagant, such as the studios to record in.

Not Worth Your Money – Dining is awful on campus. Not being able to use meals for the alternative dining options just sucks. The meal plans definitely take advantage of students' money.

Very Much Helpful – I enjoy my major a lot. I feel challenged and the three core teachers we have are fantastic. Internships are plentiful and the professors are more than willing to help out in any way that they can.

Lots to Do – There is a lot to do in Nashville. It's a good town to be a college kid in, but it can be a bit expensive at times. Even though there are things to do, most of it can be expensive. Having all the different little neighborhoods is great when going out on adventures! Nashville is fairly safe, you just have to be smart about where you go to.

Alc and Weed – There are a lot of musicians here therefore a lot of pot heads. But it's not overwhelming, people just party however they feel like. Remember to bring a case of PBR if you want to fit in with the hipster kids. It's a dry campus so just party off-campus, there's no point in getting caught, Nashville has plenty of room for kids to party away from campus. Vanderbilt has some awesome parties within walking distance, so if you have female anatomy, and you're into frat guys, that's probably where you'll want to spend your weekends.

They are a small percentage, but the pan-hellenic greeks are very present on campus. The throw decent parties, but the girls aren't very open about partying and being slutty, which is a little strange. No greek housing, a lot of houses are rented by a group of kids from the same fraternity or sorority, so they put on "greek" parties. The party life has gotten better each year.

Parking on campus can be a nightmare depending on the time of the day you are looking for a spot. Parking lightens up over the weekends. Hopefully with the new construction and parking garages, this problem will we averted.

Health & Safety:
I personally have never felt unsafe on Belmont's Campus. We are located in a metropolitan area so petty theft and other crimes are to be expected. Security is there when you need them and to help protect in any way possible. Belmont University truly cares for the health and well-being of the students and staff and is recently considered tobacco free and also is a dry-campus.

Nashville Downtown – Very good variety of clubs, restaurants, bars, most with a Western theme, but a few chains and local spots with a diverse scene. Crowded but enjoyable on weekends. Insufficient parking-- the one major downfall of this city.

I Have Never Lived Off Campus – I have never lived off campus so I am not sure how it is.

Basketball Is Where It's at! Bruin til I die! That's all one needs to know! But seriously we went to the NCAA's in 2011! We didn't make it past the first round but we made it! Sports are second to concerts and music performances.
College Senior 2011-09-16T03:37:03Z
Plenty of Food! There are a few restaurants on the main campus road. There are also coffee places galore! But there is no end to the number of places to eat that are original! SATCO for example The San-Antonio Taco Company. You guessed it TACOS, pretty awesome!

Professors Are Very Helpful – Most professors are very willing to help students whenever they need it. It is extremely comforting to know I have faculty who support me not only academically but spiritually and emotionally as well. They are understanding of situations, and aware of the struggles of college life.

Belmont never cancels classes. I've known Belmont to cancel class once and that was because of the flood that devastated much of Nashville and that was only for one day. Other than that a few classes have been delayed. If the weather gets bad plan on going to class. Nashville doesn't have the best snow equipment therefore the roads are terrible when there's precipitation. For commuters it's going to be hard to travel in the snow.
Although, if the weather is nice. Campus is absolutely perfect to hang out on the grass and various areas. Very beautiful.

A Nightmare – Belmont is growing at a very fast pace. The amount of parking available does not match up with the number of students. If you want a parking spot your best bet is to never move your car...ever. Unless it's at some random time at night or the the wee hours of the morning.

I actually enjoy the winter. Late spring through fall is either extremely hot and muggy, or rainy and cloudy. It's awful.

Where's the School Spirit? Our teams are outstanding, but our school seriously lacks school spirit.

Health & Safety:
Our Campus Security Does Jack-Dillity-Squat – I often see our security officers playing tennis, riding bikes, or simply ticketing. Whenever something frightening happens on campus, they are always too late. They seem to be everywhere, but I have not seen any evidence of them keeping the campus safe. At the same time, I never feel unsafe on campus, more because many of the students are good people and there is this unspoken level of trust.
College Senior 2011-09-13T16:47:40Z
really the only financial aid Belmont gives out are the merit based scholarships you are automatically considered for when you apply. other than that, you're on your own.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
