The parking lots are plentiful and clearly marked. It's easy to part close to whatever class you need, for free or a small fee. If your meter runs out, though, you can expect a ticket. The campus police have timed-out-meter radar.

Guys & Girls:
The guys that you find at this school are more artistic than what you find at any public school. Most students (male and female) are interested in Music Business so most are always playing an instrument, or writing and producing their own songs. Both genders at Belmont are to be described as hipsters, which on some level is very true. Depending on where you spend most of your time on campus, you will agree. You can find all sorts of types of people on campus from all over the country. None of my closest friends are from the same state that I grew up in.

Nashville weather is nothing to complain about. I come from a place where it snows a lot and to not have to worry about snow is a nice feeling. Although, when it does snow a little bit, most people in Nashville do not know how to control their vehicle in such conditions. Other than that, the summers/early fall are extremely hot and humid.

Belmont does not have a bus system but after all, it is a small campus.

Parking is available, reasonably priced, and convenient, but the enforcement is a little too strict.

I enjoy the major I am in. The classes are just hard enough to give me a challenge, but not so much that I get frustrated and want to quit. I am fortunate to have such amazing instructors that deal with my every question and concern about what life will bring to me.

The program I applied for was very easy to get into. The major Belmont concentrates on is music, so a major in communication was not as difficult to obtain. The only difficulty I faced was figuring out what to write about in the university application essay.

It's certainly stricter than a lot of colleges since it's a dry campus, but we're in a big city so it's not a big deal cause there are a ton of great bars and restaurants and a ton of students live off campus so if it's your scene you can find it.

The Bus is free to all students, but it's hit or miss and not always convenient.
College Senior 2013-07-07T19:54:33Z
Teams are really good, but sports aren't a major priority amongst the student body.

Belmont takes a lot of things too seriously in my opinion. If I wanted to have one of my best friends over in my dorm room to hang out who is opposite gender, I couldn't because Belmont won't allow visitors after 11pm on most nights which is extremely early for college students.

Belmont tries to accept people of all ethnicities. I do believe it is harder for certain ethnicities, statistically speaking, to afford Belmont therefore making it less diverse than I'd like to see.

When I was at the school the Audio/Video department was small but now they are starting a film program that will be really good. I was the first class to attend "Belmont West" and now it's a booming option for those wanting to come to Los Angeles for study or after graduation. I started with a Music Business major which was and is a strong program.

Health & Safety:
The students and professors are respectable people and most are interested in their studies on campus. It's not uptight but it's not a party atmosphere either.

The cafeteria is good but that and a little snack bar were the only options when I was attending. I think there are a few more options now but it's not a wide variety. Being in Nashville though, there are plenty of good restaurants in the city.

Nothing is happening on the campus at night unless there is a scheduled event. It is in a city though so there is plenty to do in Nashville but the campus itself is pretty quiet overall.

There are a lot of deals to be had with regard to off-campus housing. You have to do your research and due diligence, it will pay off.

The majority of campus living is new and very convenient to classes in addition to the various villages nearby i.e. Hillsboro, 12th Avenue. Belmont has put an emphasis on upgrading and building new campus housing in recent years, the investment is paying off. The campus living is great!

Nashville is a robust town right now and Belmont University is leading the way towards growth in addition to supporting the culture that is present. There is never a shortage of things to do, music events to attend and great places to eat. The standard of living is reasonable even as a student and as a result many students choose to stay post graduation.

It's great of you're a freshman. Don't expect a community atmosphere after that.
College Junior 2013-06-03T16:51:13Z
If you want to live off campus within walking distance, it's really expensive.
College Junior 2013-06-03T16:46:56Z
Nashville is an amazing city. The only drawback to Belmont's campus is that there aren't too many places to eat off campus within walking distance, but it's still not too far from Vandy or downtown.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
