Music Industry is scary but so exciting. Most professors have significant experience in the Industry.

Not the most difficult school, but not a diploma mill either. Have to put in some work if you want to do well. Professors are fairly good. Biggest thing at Belmont is to take advantage of the opportunities. They would much rather see you have a B average and spend time networking in the Industry rather than have all A's but have no life.

Belmont University has an outstanding basketball team. The school spirit and support for our teams is very high and truly adds to the college experience.

Belmont has not been extremely helpful with financial issues. I have been to the financial aid office several times and alway am still seeking out advice for scholarships and aid for my tuition.

The dining hall is average, you could say, it gets boring and the food is iffy.

The dorms are alright. Some are new and others are older, almost all freshman live on campus. There are more options for upperclassmen, like apartment style but its overpriced and expensive.

I lived in a duplex on Battlefield Drive which was biking distance to the school. I also lived in an apartment in Bellevue which was driving distance from the school. Both were priced well and nice places to live. I found them through my boyfriend.

Campus life is not as much of a party atmosphere as other schools but there are a lot of good people who attend Belmont. It has an academic and musical talent vibe. The fact that it's set in Nashville is also great for music and music business majors. If you are a Christian, this is a great school because the religion department is wonderful. Lots of non Christian people come here too though.

Calypso Cafe is one of my favorite places to eat. Every time I come back to town from LA I go there. They have 2 locations, one is close to downtown and the other is near 1000 Oaks Mall. It's caribbean food.

If you're under 21, don't expect to have fun in Nashville. If you don't like country or hipster music, expect to have a terrible time in Nashville.

I feel like I haven't left high school. Higher level thinking is not required to do well at Belmont, which I find quite discouraging. Also, Belmont discriminates based on religion while hiring teachers, so they filter out possibly more qualified professors.

Most softer drugs are easy to find if you try. Harder drugs are practically non-existent.

Belmont over-admits Audio Engineering Technology majors. There is no room for everybody to graduate within 4 years.

Belmont has several different food options, but only two full dining options. The food is fairly high in quality, but sometimes lacking in variety. They are building new dining facilities currently, so there will most likely be a marked improvement in the next couple of years. There are many different options as far as meal plans and flex dollars, including options to use flex dollars at many restaurants close by.

The workload is manageable but challenging. Professors are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. There are a vast number of internship opportunities, and many of these internships tie into multiple areas of interest.

There are a high number of computers in the library that work quite well, and at most times of the day are available to all students. The computer lab has a smaller number, but higher quality computers. It is definitely advised to have a personal computer, both for academic and social reasons.

I have not yet held an internship through Belmont, however almost every upperclassman I have spoken with has given high praise of the internship program here. The connections held by many of the professors and other faculty members are impeccable, and they are almost always more than willing to help their students in obtaining lucrative positions.

I am a Marketing and Entrepreneurship double major. I have had excellent classes that are extremely relevant to my intended career, and have done a great job of setting me up for success. I came in as a Music Business major, and definitely enjoyed the classes I took as part of the Mike Curb College of Music Business and Entertainment. My transition from CEMB to the Business College was seamless, and I had great advising in the decision to switch. My professors have been very knowledgeable and helpful in and out of the classroom. I hope to use what I learn in an applied setting as an independent artist, and potentially work with other entrepreneurial ideas as well. The job market for entrepreneurship is really what you make it, but Belmont does a great job of creating opportunities and making connections that will be helpful after graduating.

As a transfer student, I was not eligible to receive any Belmont Scholarships which made it important for me to look at outside scholarships.

When I was there, girls weren't allowed in boys dorms and vice versa certain times of the day. I thought that was a good thing though.

There are some fraternities and sororities but not many. There is a new campus life building that was built after I graduated and it's very nice. The sports teams are fun to watch and there are a lot of green spaces on campus. People are friendly and students are always hanging around.

Most people have a car at this school. I think there's a bus system that can also take you around but the city is more of a car type city. The airport is about 20 minutes from downtown. With a car, it's very easy to get around.

Guys & Girls:
I found my husband at this school so I obviously loved that part! I would say that lots of the guys seem gay and lots of the girl wear sweatpants but that was when I was going there 96-00. In the city there are plenty of people to mingle with and there are a lot of great people on campus too, just not as many as a party type school.

There are lots of apartment buildings going up in there area. There are also a lot of cute houses in the area.

Finding a parking space during the school day can be pretty rough.
