Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Forget everything you’ve heard about the Greek system when you come to Belmont—the fraternities and sororities on campus aren’t your typical party-throwing, clique-forming organizations. Like most Belmont students, the Greek community is morally grounded and welcoming. Many events thrown by Greek organizations are open to the entire campus, including the popular “Disco is Dead” dance hosted annually by Alpha Tau Omega. In the spring, all of the fraternities and sororities showcase their talent at Greek Sing. Each group performs a dance and musical number—and of course, since it’s Belmont, the numbers are pretty incredible! The non-Greek students come out to support their friends and to see which frat or sorority puts together the best performance.

There is no special housing available to Greek students at Belmont. However, since people in the same frat or sorority do spend a significant amount of time together, they’ll usually end up as roommates in one of the on-campus apartments or scout off-campus housing together. As on any college campus, you’ll have some girls or guys who don’t spend much time with non-Greeks, though they’re few and far between. The Greek system isn’t for everybody—there’s a relatively small population of Greeks on campus—but it’s just another way to find that tight community of friends at Belmont.

Not a Part of It

I am not a part of the Greek Life here on campus so I don't know very much. I do see plenty of their events going on all around me.

Greek Life

There are many Greek students on Belmont's campus. I enjoy having them around because it's makes for a better social college atmosphere.
