...Terrible.

There is definitely something to say about Belmont's food options. For starters, they put on a show for potential students. You think that Belmont serves their students pretty decent food in the cafe but then you learn that they put grade the food plan specifically for the days high schoolers visit. The food company that the school actually goes through is the same company that feeds Tennessee state prisons and the food is so nutritionally starved that you're hungry an hour later. Also, the hours of the cafe are completely ridiculous because they close the cafe at random times throughout the day and close for the day at 7 pm and at 6:15 on weekends. Needless to say, it's very common to miss your dinner.

Off-Campus for the Win!

There are so many great apartment complexes around Belmont. Availability becomes a little harder once summer settles in but if you find an apartment fast, you're good to go. Prices are resonable for being in the city but it's best if you have another roommate or even two to split costs.

Marijuana Lovers

The drugs that are loved and cherished at BU is the one and only MARIJUANA. Everyone and their mom smokes it. Holla.

Extremely Unique

Belmont has many unique majors which is why I chose it. All of my professors have real-world experience. I wouldn't go anywhere else. It's more than an education, it's an opportunity to network and learn in a real world environment.

Available but Could Be Improved

There are computer labs with printing access in multiple buildings across campus and a wireless network available everywhere, however, the wireless does occasionally get bogged down with an overload of users. You could probably get by without your own computer on campus but you would be one of the few who do.

Visitation Policy

The visitation policy can be a little too much I think. Although we're a Christian campus, it should still be allowed for students to visit whenever. There are certain regulations like these that don't allow students to create boundaries for themselves.

Scholarships at Admission

really the only financial aid Belmont gives out are the merit based scholarships you are automatically considered for when you apply. other than that, you're on your own.

Dining

Our cafeteria food is horrible. In order to get food I enjoy, I have to go to the Curb or to Corner Court.

Safe

There isn't much crime or fighting. I feel safe here. Security offers escorts to places on campus if you feel unsafe. Just be aware that we are in Nashville. Keep your doors locked.

Love It.

No matter what your style of a good time is, you can find it at Belmont for sure.

Major-Specific Scholarships

Belmont doesn't give many general scholarships right off the bat, but there are a lot of opportunities for major-specific scholarships or study abroad. Make sure to apply for scholarships under your major, especially if you're music business or performance!

Suite Style Living

If you get in one of the suite style dorms (Patton/Bear House or Maple for freshmen and Kennedy or Thrailkill for upperclassmen) then you have it made. Those dorms are all relatively new and in great condition. However, if you end up in a community style dorm (Wright/Maddox, Heron, Hail) it will be old and not in the best condition. If you are a freshman guy, live in Pembroke. You won't regret it.

Snow Go

For the most part, Nashville is bright and beautiful. In the winter though, the city will shut down because of one or two inches of snow. Stay off the roads when it's snowing; Nashville drivers freak out!

So Many Choices

We're in Nashville. You could probably eat at a different local restaurant everyday for a year. I honestly have not had a bad experience with off-campus dining once. Check out SATCO, Urban Flats, The Local Taco, Jackson's, Fido, and Frothy Monkey. All are great options!

Diversity

Overall Belmont's student population is pretty diverse. It's heavily populated with music students, but that might be because I mostly associate with music students and have all my classes with them. Regardless of the reason, I'm not complaining. There are a lot of hipsters on campus. Fewer this year than last. Student dating is very common. There's quite a bit of diversity in how students dress and spend their leisure time. Belmont is a very social campus. I've also seen an increase in racial diversity within the last year which has been nice.

Blessed Beyond Belief

I have had an amazing time thus far at Belmont. I have learned so much about myself through my interactions with other students both in and out of the classroom. My values and beliefs have shifted, and I consider myself to be a more mature, happy, and confident person than when I graduated from high school. I love the community feeling Belmont offers, and everyone on campus truly looks out for one another. Belmont really feels like home, and I am proud to be a student of the university!

Low, but Very Protected

Just like any college campus, there is a drug scene. But more students choose not to be involved in it. Belmont recently passed a tobacco-free campus policy, so students who smoke cigarettes must do so off campus. In addition, Belmont has a no alcohol tolerance policy. Of course students hide alcohol in their rooms, and some parties do happen in on campus apartments, but almost all parties are off campus. If students are caught with alcohol, paraphernalia, drugs, etc. they will be severely punished.

AWESOME

AWESOME. Belmont is a school of some of the nicest people I have ever met. You can walk up to anyone here, talk to them, and they are incredibly inviting. This is not because it is a southern school, it's because it's Belmont.

Okay

Athletics are decent at Belmont. We are well-known for our basketball team, but that is about it. Go down the street to Vandy for athletics.

The Great Outdoors and Loud Music

Nashville is a city for everything, especially for music. There are also great parks offering hiking trails, camping opportunities, and rock climbing. Nashville is also home to many college and universities, including Belmont, Vanderbilt, and Lipscomb. There is a great indie scene of artists, musicians, and writers throughout Nashville. Definitely check out Centennial Park's replica of the Parthenon.

OK but It Gets Old

The cafeteria is not the best but its tolerable. It dose get old after awhile. The curb cafe or the corner court is a good alternative if you have Bruin Bucks.

Bus System

The bus system is free if you show your ID, which is great and will take you to a variety of locations in the city. Since Belmont is so small there's no need for on campus transportation.

Curfew and Parties

We have no curfew which is great, however those of the opposite sex cannot be in our rooms after 12 on weeknights and after 1 on weekends. There's usually parties off campus, so don't drink on campus because you will get in trouble if caught.

Dream Come True

Belmont is my dream school. It is everything I wanted so much more. I work so hard on my classes but have learned so much. Every day I am provided with amazing opportunities and I couldn't ask for a better place to be.

FNP Program

The program is small with adequate face to face time with instructions. If something is difficult to grasp or if there are any problems, an instructor is readily available to help. It is a wonderful program!
