Facts

Interviews & Information Sessions

Information sessions are held every weekday at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. (except for University holidays). Department information sessions are held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. CST, and they last about 45 minutes. Just remember to call in advance to check availability of the sessions. Belmont doesn’t really do interviews. You apply for admission as early as possible, and you should be notified within four or five weeks of Belmont receiving your application. For the music and musical theater departments, they require auditions and let the applicants know when they can come in for those. Prospective students are also allowed and encouraged to sit in on a class or two to get a feel for what classes are like.

Campus Tours

Tours happen on weekdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (except for University holidays). Current students (Bruin Guides) take the prospective students and their parties around campus. Fridays are the most popular days for tours, which last about 45 minutes. Request a visit online at www.belmont.edu/prospectivestudents/visiting/schedule.html or call (615) 460-6785. Preview Days let people see what Belmont and specific departments are all about. The prospective students will have an opportunity to tour the campus, talk to professors and students, and begin making decisions as to whether Belmont’s the place for them. Preview Days happen two Saturdays a semester. You can register and find the Preview Day dates for the semester at: www.belmont.edu/prospectivestudents/visiting/previewday.

Overnight Visits

If you really want to experience life on campus, come for an overnight visit! You'll stay with one of the Bruin Recruiters, student volunteers who love encouraging prospective freshmen to attend the University. You'll have the opportunity to shadow their classes—if they're not in a field you're interested in, they'll let you shadow one of their friends. To schedule an overnight, call the Office of Admissions at (615) 460-6785 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
