Overall, I see Beloit as a place...
Overall, I see Beloit as a place that offers a good education, but little in regards to helping me grow socially as an adult. If you know what you want to major in, and Beloit offers it, then you will get a great education. If you do not know what you want to major in, then Beloit is small enough that you can get into a variety of classes without a declared major, so you can explore. As an individual who did not know what I wanted to major in, I felt that my options were limited at Beloit. I knew that I wanted to study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country, but despite Beloit’s good reputation as a school that can facilitate study abroad experiences, I had a tremendously daunting experience trying to find a program for me. I declared a major that I love, but I wanted more. Feeling trapped, I took a semester off after two and a half years at Beloit. By the end of that semester off, I had decided to transfer to a larger public school. The hardest thing about leaving Beloit was leaving the people who had impacted me greatly.
