The Fall and Spring months are fantastic- the lake is really fun to swim in, the grass and trees are incredibly green and beautiful. Its the winter months you have to watch out for, especially during the transitions in between the seasons. One minute it could be sunny, and the next it could be snowing and you forgot your winter boots at home. Extremely cold, wet, and sometimes it gets very hard to see.
The nice part about BSU is that we have TUNNELS, something that most Minnesotan schools do not have the luxury of having. There are a few spots that the tunnels are not connected, but most of the time people can still wear their T-Shirts in the tunnels without being touched by the freezing blizzard outside.

In accordance with strict policies, I love how they are strict about the underage drinking (no alcohol in the dorms, which is in reality a good thing even though those over 21 should be allowed, in my opinion). They're also very strict on the drug use, not tolerating it but still being professional in handling the situations that arise with the users.
The parking issues could be solved had they built a bigger parking lot when Birch was being remodeled, but in the spring and fall months there is not too much of an issue unless one is trying to find a parking spot late at night. My issue is that the spaces do not have markers on them for when the snow falls, so during the winter there is even LESS space because people cannot find the spots and space themselves out way too far.

We get free shuttle transportation to the hockey games throughout the year, which is a really nice touch since the rink is quite a ways from campus. The school also got us a deal with the local transportation system if we need to get around town, making it easier and cheaper on the college student's wallet.

I have not come into contact with many pushy individuals about their beliefs on any of these subjects, which I find to be a very good fit. Sharing opinions near election days is fine, as are the posters that are up and around campus, but thankfully no one comes to the dorms very often to invade personal space.

I'm not sure on how the campus dorms are but I head that they're good and a convenient for walking distance. A student can use under ground tunnels to the main campus. Cost isn't too bad considering the price of a four year degree.

Well, there are a lot of sports players and fans alike. They are very team spirited and everyone on campus sports our team logo. We have a game of some sort almost every weekend.

I didn't come to party at college, but there are several bars not to far from the college. Those bars are down town which is in walking distance and all the bars are close together. Some students talk about back woods parties which are parties on private land, but I've never went.

There's always places to rent but I would choose the dorm because of the cost is decent.

I haven't ate at the food court yet but I hear decent things about it.

My favorite experience is being able to have guest speakers coming to talk about the jobs I've been thinking about. It's amazing to hear their opinion and experiences about working in the criminal justice system. I think our college is unique because we have under ground tunnels and a lot of extra curricular activities. I'd choose this college any day, because I like Bemidji it's a great place to live. I've lived here for over two years and there is a lot of good people here.

Permit costs are pretty spending which ranges from about $100 a semester to $300 a year or something to that extent. I park on residential streets which is free unless you don't read the signs. It's very obvious on where you can park. If you park illegally then you will get a parking ticket and I don't know how much they are. The Bemidji police department patrol the residential streets quite a bit! Sometimes I have to walk an estimated six blocks which is good exercise for me so I can't complain. If you show up early in the morning your guaranteed a good spot, but pay attention to where you park. In the winter students park on the lake which is closer than most parking place.

This college will not put up with sexual assault or bullying. The college has it's own code of ethnics and a peer court system with an awesome guidance consular. They work with the police department when cases are serious. The police department has a sense of omnipresence throughout the college and can be seen issuing parking violations.

I'm majoring in criminal justice with a minor in Indian studies. I really want to get involved with being a servant to my community which is based on an Indian reservation. The curriculum is somewhat demanding and it's very suggestive that we take an internship. They really make sure you know what you're getting into. Professors stress about work ethics, professionalism, community relations, and career planning.
College Junior 2013-11-06T19:56:15Z
There is a lot of different curriculums a student can take up and the professors are very diverse. The registration process was easy as the professor sat down and gave me suggestions which pretty much pointed me in the right direction. The work load is right to the point there isn't much slack. We're zipping thru topics so it's important to show up to class.

Some certain places offer student discounts, but the prices are very reasonable. We have restaurants with decent prices depending if you want fine dinning or buffets. Also, a few fast food places along with new food chains being built right now. The best places is the Asian restaurant called super buffet which offers a variety of Asian foods or Apple Bee's for good food and decent prices.

There is always a computer available during the day time. I haven't needed to use my lab top because in my degree we really haven't had much writing assignments. The internet is speedier than my last college and printers barely ever break down. To make copies it's about ten cents a sheet.

This was easy because this wasn't my first time and it's set up so you can pull up your tax forms in a click of a few buttons. Get your financial aid done as soon as you can, because if there is any mistakes you can get it taken care of before the deadline. Don't be afraid to bother people at the financial aid office they are here to help!

So far I haven't had to drive in a snow storm, but I'm a Minnesota driver and am use to driving in bad road conditions. The college from what I hear closes on snow storms so I'm not really concerned and being that I drive so far I won't be "weathering" any bad storm.

Personally I live a good 45 minutes away from the university, but the highways are smooth cruising. Absolutely, no traffic jams and the scenery is beautiful as I see all kinds of wild life on my long drive. The gas prices are subjected to change every week as I pay any where to fill my car with about $40-$60 per week. There are transportation buses available, but I live well out of their range. Parking is a hassle, but when winter arrives students park their cars on the lake which is right next to the college.

The athletic center includes a pool rock climbing wall and a weight room adjacent to the indoor track. There's also cardio group programs that you can sign up for inside the dance studio. The athletic center has showers so you can clean up after a good workout and they also offer free towels. The library has several levels of books and study rooms that are open during morning till like six at night. Great place to study or use computers and it's pretty quite most of the time. There is always some kind of event happening around the college during the week. We're big on sports up here like hockey, rugby, volley ball, foot ball and many other extra curricular activities. There is even a club for pretty much anything in which all clubs participate in community volunteering.

I'd say it's somewhat average, but I haven't really been able to talk to other students about their religion and political beliefs. For the most part everyone seems very accepting though there are some bigots I've managed to come across. There are a lot of different people here and they all have their own beliefs while the professors make sure everyone is equally respected.

They are making an effort to bring multi-cultural values into the campus community, but are falling short when measured against the amount of racism that exists within the community.

Students are given grades; they do not earn them. If grades were not curved, and students were responsible for their part of the work, then about 20% of them would get anything higher than a C. That said, maybe 1% would get above 90% of the material. What makes it sick is that people are majoring in programs they should have no business getting into: poachers in conservation biology, right-wing republicans in environmental studies, antisocial cataclysm prophets in education, chronic abusers/racists in sociology/politics programs, etc..

Guys & Girls:
Bessies and Trolls, the whole lot of them. A few good lookers mixed throughout, but the rumor mills that are rampant in Midwest life make those few out to be nymphomaniacs/psycho/damaged goods.

The STEM studies are continuing to decline at this school, but it is growing its focus on Business and Education majors. Definitely not a research institution, despite claims otherwise. I really don't think they should have the accreditation to issue half the Master's degrees they do.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
