My dorm is small and laundry machines suck. They need to update internet the rooms and add appliances to the rooms.

I just didn't like the 7 year limit for transferring in classes

This university is considered a catholic university. However, it turns out there is so much diversity with many different peoples. There are people of a variety of faiths such as Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and many more. There are also people of all different races. Never have I seen an instance of discrimination against someone else based on race or religion.

There is plenty of different types of food available in this university. The library is the perfect place for almost anything study related. There is a quiet area for studying alone and an area for using computers. There is also a general area for groups to study together.

The university is located right next to a four seasons park. In the park there is a ski area for the winter time to have fun in. There is also a river that can be fished in as well. The university has free gym access to students as well. There are also many different school organized fun events, such as bonfires.

There are only two places where you are almost guaranteed a spot; the most out-of-the-way lot and the parking garage.

The athletic facilities at Benedictine are great and the staff is very helpful.

Because it's a small school and not everyone is interested in internships due to current circumstances, there's a higher chance that you'd be selected for an internship. Also, a small school allows more one-on-one access with supervisors because they're actually around.

There's a lot of grass, and it is usually damp or wet, so a lot of times students trudge through as a shortcut rather than walking around the grass, which takes longer to get into buildings for classes.

There are 3 big groups of ethnic diversity (Middle Eastern/Indian & White). People only hang out with their own groups, so I do not think it's very diverse in that sense. However, I think religion plays a role because it's part of a shared culture. Whether one has a religion, those are the people they tend to stick with, because it's comfortable.

Parking is free but during orientation you get a pass which must be kept on your car at all times. There is plenty of parking but sometimes the walk can be long.

I haven't noticed any Greek Life on campus or frats.

Benedictine has a extremely high rate of Muslim students that make up the student body. They primarily keep to themselves, which I think is a bad thing because they socially isolate themselves from others. I think diversity is a good thing but sometimes it can be taken too far.

There is a 24/7 campus police site and they can be very strict when there is rowdy behavior and will issue tickets to students, even if it is their first offense. However, the majority of the tickets issued are not paid at all. Instead there is an option to do community service to pay off a ticket.

We are extremely close to downtown Naperville and not too far from Chicago; therefore, there is a wide variety of places to eat around Benedictine.

The academia at Benedictine is very versatile and develops well-rounded students. However, the workload for all classes can be overwhelming and there are some teachers that are more helpful than others and explain the course's material better.

My major, biochemistry/molecular biology, has a lot of great courses that will teach you the fundamentals for future jobs in that field. There are also a lot of research opportunities that one can attain through their teachers. However, the workload is difficult, very demanding, and competitive.

We do not have any greek life on campus which is very disappointing to me which is one of the main things i wanted to experience in college.

The parking on campus during the day is very hectic and difficult to find a spot. Once the day is getting closer to being done, more and more spots open up as everyone that commutes to school is on their way home.
College Junior 2013-07-29T16:51:22Z
The nightlife on campus is alright, beside the fact the cops on campus are power happy people and do not allow fun. When the campus police aren't being strict the parties that are on campus are fun just will be a little cramped.
College Sophomore 2013-07-29T04:02:00Z
Night life on campus can be great depending on how creative you and your friends are. There are parties on campus for those that are 21 and up on the weekend. For undergrads, you better get used to movie/game nights. Campus is about a 10 to 15 minute drive from everything like down town Naperville where there is a lot of shops and restaurants. There is a 16 to 23 club called Zero Gravity fairly close to campus so for a change of pace that this could be a potential option.

A few years ago, a new parking garage was built and there has never been trouble with parking. There are also parking lots on every side of the campus, as well as by the dorm buildings; therefore, it is very easy to find a parking spot near your academic building, on-campus apartment, or the fitness building. During the school day the parking lots can be crowded; however, there are always spots available and the parking garage never gets full. Also, parking permits for students are absolutely free, which allow students to park anywhere on campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
