College Prowler Take

After the mandatory struggle of living in the freshman dorms, life will get much sweeter sophomore year as you make the choice between one of the three suites on lower campus. Junior and senior years give independent living a new meaning as you begin your stay in an on-campus apartment. The major change happens after your tenure in the Trees, Miller, or Slade when you move into one of the Copleys or Fenway. After sharing a bathroom with 20 other people, having your own personal bathroom inside your suite is well worth the hassle of cleaning it yourself. The in-room fridge and microwave are a great transition into apartment living and an assurance that you won’t starve if the cafè doesn’t have anything appetizing. While most students live on campus all four years, it’s because they choose to, not simply because of the lack of off-campus options. The housing options are almost as top-notch as the computer network, with a style of room to fit anyone’s tastes and needs. The furniture could be newer, and the rugs should be cleaned more frequently, but overall, the dorm rooms, suites, and apartments are comfortable and easy to live in.

The small-school feel of Bentley can be alienating to someone living off campus because on-campus housing is where friends and bonds are made, often at late-night study sessions or hanging out in the student lounge. The actual facilities are all new and up-to-date or, at least, renovated to look that way.

The freshman dorms are pretty good in terms of freshman dorms. Miller is a good place to be freshman year, and after that, you live in a suite or apartment.

All of the dorms are pretty nice...

All of the dorms are pretty nice compared to most schools I've visited. Living in Trees freshman year is great because you get to meet a lot more people than you do living in Miller or Slade. The only downside is that the dorms in Trees are smaller than the ones in Miller or Slade. Your housing is upgraded every year, providing you don't lose housing credits due to judicials. Falcone and Collins are upperclassman apartments and are less than a two-minute walk to class.

To be honest, I think all of the dorms are pretty nice and well kept. I feel like the Lower Campus dorms are too far from classes, but they are the newest set of dorms. Additionally, the North Campus dorms are completely disconnected from campus but are even newer than the Lower dorms.

The dorms are good overall, apart from the ridiculous meal plan requirement in most buildings. Falcone Apartments are the best, while the newer Fenway suites and recently built Copley Suites are hotel-like.
