College Prowler Take

Students are drawn to the dining experience in Harvard Square due to the allure and ease of the free college shuttle, but in reality, Waltham has double the amount of restaurant options. The diversion away from Waltham establishments starts young, since freshmen are not allowed to have cars on campus, thus making the shuttle to Harvard very appealing. By the time you are allowed to have a car on campus, you will find yourself stuck in the routine of going into Harvard Square to eat out and won’t explore your local community.

The highlight of off-campus dining is Moody Street, which boasts the Bentley favorite, Margaritas, along with the staple pub food at the Skellig and Joe Sent Me. Years ago, Moody Street had a very different look and feel than it does now, but that has yet to have an effect on student dining patterns. However, with virtually every ethnic cuisine represented, it would be hard not to find something enticing. The local shuttle service is now defunct, but a taxi from Bentley to Main and Moody would be a few bucks and well worth it for a gourmet meal in your backyard.

There are lots of restaurants...

There are lots of restaurants close by, and all of them deliver—some of them until 3 or 4 in the morning. If what's close by doesn't suit your taste, then you can hop on the Bentley shuttle, get on the T, and enjoy some fine Italian food in the North End.

Bentley is in Waltham, which is 20 minutes from Boston, where there is a wide variety of restaurants. Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market is a good spot for getting good food at a good price. Bentley offers a free shuttle into Harvard Square in Cambridge, which has additional options. Lastly, Waltham has some good places on Moody Street, but none within walking distance.
