College Prowler Take
Snow in April and shorts in November—these two events are not all that uncommon of the typical New England weather in Boston. The area easily sees four very distinct seasons within the school year but with random days of other weather interspersed. Upon arrival to school in September, shorts and T-shirts are still common, but the change from late summer to fall can occur in an instant. The fall is a beautiful and comfortable time of year, with a slight autumn chill in the air and beautiful fall foliage. Winter is typically brutal, with a few months (about December–March) of freezing cold temperatures and an always decent amount of snow, meaning winter clothes are a definite necessity. Once spring finally begins to come around, the campus lights up, and people begin to reemerge from the woodwork and actually venture outside.
It is most certainly important to be prepared for all types of weather, from heat to rain to humidity to snow and everything in between. There are no surprises—it’s typical New England weather here.

Pretty cold for most of the year. It’s New England, so obviously it’s cold. September–October are pretty comfortable, and in April–May the weather is pretty mild, too. But winters can be pretty bad here. This one wasn’t so bad; it was really cold, but not too much snow. |
