Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The experience at Berea College is so indescribable, but the best way to describe it is “a transformative experience.” For most students who come here, Berea College is far from home, so they have a feeling of being out on their own and doing things for themselves. The people at Berea definitely contribute to each student's overall experience because of the exposure to different backgrounds, races, religions, cultures, and perspectives. The diversity is a key component to a student's experience here because listening to others’ unique ideologies forces everyone to challenge themselves and grow mentally. And, the courses are as mentally stimulating as the diversified student body. Most Berea students also take advantage of the study abroad program. Traveling to different continents and countries introduces students to a different way of thinking and living, expanding their horizons even more.

Berea is so different from typical colleges—if you’re accepted, there is no reason to even consider not choosing this school as your future alma mater. The College prepares students for the real world. By being exposed to different people here, Berea students will know how to interact in an environment with a multitude of races, ethnicities, and perspectives surrounding them. Also, Berea’s labor program helps students improve their work ethic and learn new skills so they can graduate with the capacity to work in any situation. Overall, Berea College produces worldly students.

Not the Freshmen

Not everyone can have a car on campus. I think that the parking is a bad situation.
