Dining Options – There is only one dining hall on campus and it doesn't have much variety. The cafeteria has a special almost every night to try to add some variety to the menu.

If i have alot of money, i want to live in dorms. because it is very close to our class room. in the morning, even you get up late, you could go be on time and also if you practice until late time, it takes just 1 minute from practice room to your room. it is very convenience but it is expensive. even if it includes 3 meals in a day. excepts its price, it will be tonally good.

Student Discount – there are some thi restaurant, chinese restaurant, some fast food shop or whatever.. i have never seen any restaurant which discount to student. just in college orientation period, college gave some coupon so we could get free pizza. it was all.

Guys & Girls:
What Can I Say About Musicians? I love Berklee's diversity. You'll find people from all over the world and learn about different types of music and cultures. I think it's awesome. Keep an open mind though, a lot of people are really out there. It's definitely not the typical college. Musicians are not "normal" people jaja, but music definitely brings everyone together. If you can focus on getting the good out of everyone, you'll love this place.

Distance Vs. Price – Living close to Berklee is very expensive. It's not easy to find a good apartment, either. I looked for over 2 months for a nice place and I finally found it. I'm still paying a lot of money to live close-by and I sacrificed space for cleanliness in order to pay something reasonable. But there's always the option of living further away and paying less. I've heard there are nice apartments in other parts of the city, but having to take the subway to school everyday is a huge hassle.. especially during the winter.

Health & Safety:
I've Never Had a Problem, but I've Heard About Them – I have always felt safe in Berklee. There are security guards in every building, but they usually never have any work to do. It's like it would be anywhere else. You take care of your things and you should be fine. I lent my iPod to a friend once and she left it in one of the common rooms and it was returned to security. I picked it up the next day. So it depends on your luck. On the other hand, it is Boston. I've heard stories about friends being mugged by the subway station, which is not far. I haven't heard of a problem inside of Berklee, but it is a big city, so just watch out for your stuff and don't go out alone at night.

Extensive Application Process – The Berklee application process if very long. It requires an audition, which is a good thing, but can be a big inconvenience for many seeing as areas where they are offered are limited.

Dining Near Berklee – All the food options surrounding the campus are great. There is a variety of choices, subway, pizza, wendys, several coffee shops, chinese and more. Most of them are open until at least midnight or later. The only downside is that most of them are relatively expensive. Especially the smaller local chains.
College Senior 2011-12-28T21:33:39Z
Berklee College Library – The Berklee Library is very small and has terrible hours. I'm specifically talking about the study area. It closes at midnight regularly and doesn't open until the late afternoon on weekends. It can seat no more than 50 or so kids, and that's pushing it. Most schools have libraries that are open until at 2 A.M. or are even 24 hours.

Berklee Opportunities – Berklee has alot of opportunities I love how students can easily get great partnered internships for awesome places such as radio stations and film and tv positions.
but the school is totally unorganized for the small amount of students it holds.

Local Bus and Trains – local bus and trains in the city but it is an extra expense that i do hate to spend after spending outragious amounts of money for this school
College Junior 2011-12-26T15:45:10Z
Drugs and Drinking – Not as visible on campus but i know people are very in to them. It is an art school and in the middle of the city so many things happen so quickly its hard to catch. But I( choose to focus on school because I have high standards set and I just want to get out of school so I may start my career.

there are really no challenges, because we all have a common passion which is music. So we all put are differences aside and come together and do what we love.

Health & Safety:
Safety and Security – as of yet I have had no problems. They offer late night escort service for young females getting out of late rehearsals. They always post important bulletins about keeping and eye out and offer classes on how to stay safe on campus.

Music Everywhere – The social life at Berklee is very focused around shows and concerts on the weekends; whether it's a friend's show or your own. Berklee is a great place to network and meet other talented musicians.
College Senior 2011-12-04T01:02:01Z
Sports Are Not a Focus – Berklee does not have many sport options since the majority of the school population is not interested in sports. They do have opportunities at other schools. The only thing that would be nice for the school to have would be a gym.

If You Want a Contemporary Music Education, Don't Look Any Further! Berklee's academics are fantastic, especially the Harmony and Ear Training department. As a Music Business major, I have been in great classes that I feel create a well-rounded music student. The nice part of my major is that I get to do an internship.

We have a hockey team but we're all doing music so we really don't see it as vital

Boston's a great college city, pretty much designed for the lifestyle.

Berklee Safety – It's pretty safe from what I've experienced except for one mishap handled immediately by the police.

Necessary Evil – It is a great school with very qualified instructors. I would do it all again. But Boston ain't my bag, very expensive and not safe. People are rude and arrogant outside of college life. If I live here much longer, I will be like the rest, looking down at my shoes, not smiling and wondering why I am here to begin with. Go to class, get your education and stay positive through adversity. Most music schools will cut you loose if you can't cut it and the check does not clear. Be ready for both!

Pros and Cons – Cons: Very expensive, stay in the City and do not go southwest - go due east. The T is unsafe at night, break your routine to avoid targeting. Stay in the dorm. You will pay more, but at least you will be safe. Crime rate around Boston is out of control. Don't depend on the law enforcement to keep you safe. Pros: You are near several good restaurants, sporting events and scenery is awesome around Boston. Stay in a group.

Contemporary Music School – Berklee is the leading contemporary music school in the world. At Berklee, a student can study just about anything he or she wants when it comes to music. We have a diverse choice in majors, from Music Production & Engineering to FIlmscoring, a very diverse faculty, and our student body represents 90 countries.
