I love the online courses. Registration was easy. The teachers were organized and nice. There was a high quality of interaction between students and teachers.

The computer network is fine. The only thing to consider is that the wireless access does not extend throughout the campus, sometimes in a classroom on the far end the signal will not be picked up.

The schools offers a variety of after school activities in order to broaden the experiences of the students who attend. FORUMs bring guest lecturers, projects, and art to the school for others to enjoy and learn from.

Facilities are fine for a small Community College campus, as is BCC. There is a pool, gym, library, computer center, and even playground for small children. The campus is generally clean and nice and improvement's are being made on the structure.

Very diverse group of students, ethnic, political, and racial. I feel that everyone does accept each other, and judgment is over looked

I wish that the professors were more involved with the students at times

Right now my workload is not too overwhelming! I'm currently enrolled in Elementary Education, and last semester I had the opportunity to help out at a local Elementary school. I tutored third graders three times a week. It was a great experience, and gave insight to the field I wish to go into

I have yet to experience it for myself, but for those that have come back to look for help finding a job, have felt that the college does quite a bit to help you out.

The student body ranges from people who just graduated high school, to going back to school, to others who have just retired and want to take another class

Everything is wonderful, except for the Advising office. That needs a restructuring bad.

BCC is a very good school with many excellent academic programs. The bus service is lacking though and you may feel that you are learning the same thing as you continue your degree. Everybody is different and it is very easy to make friends. There are two computer labs but they are often full.

There is nothing unique about this college. The only thing that the administration is proud of is the "Core Competencies" package-- eight or so "areas of knowledge" that you get simply by passing classes! Not very educational or developmental.

It is not very flexible academically at BCC. The curriculum is very strict, and there is very little room for freedom in the degree program- the main reason I am transferring is because they don't have my major, and the course requirements for the liberal arts degree are exactly like in high school. There is breadth, certainly. But no depth.
Additionally, it's very easy to fall through the cracks as a student here at BCC. I have heard many cases of students signing up for a course, the course not reaching capacity, and then getting stuck in another course that they hadn't signed up for.

There is a very small computer lab, perhaps there are about 30 Windows desktops- but no one ever seems to have to wait. The wireless internet works most of the time, but only in about 80% of the classes. It's impossible to get internet service outside, around the smoking areas.

There is an athletic center, but I've never been in it. However, I have a lot of friends who enjoy it. The library is small, but it is very easy to order a book through the Inter Library Loan service, which connects you to many other libraries in the area. "Forums" (necessary 1-hour events for your associate's degree) are really hit or miss.

There seems to be a wide variety in the student body. I have classes with a wide variety of different ethnicity..

Mostly, my school consists of working-class people with full-time jobs or families. They often juggle many different roles in addition to being students. While they are happy to socialize and make friends, this is not a priority. They are getting an education so they can seek a different life or career.

My school has a ride share program that is really helpful. One week when my car was in the shop, I was struggling to find a ride to class. Through the program, I found a classmate to share rides with who actually lived near me. We split the costs and saved gas in the process!

I am an Early Childhood Major and the head of the department is wonderful. She understands that each student is unique and builds her curriculum based on their specific needs. She is well known in the community and always posts job openings and suggests great places for internships. She makes is impossible to miss any opportunities for success in the feild.

The professors I have had are all very nice, like working with each student's specific needs and sincerely want to ensure each student recieves the education they deserve. The workload and curriculum are fine. Registration can be a hassle but where is it not?
Sorry, there are no reviews.
