Some of the financial aid folks are more helpful than others. Had a few glitches when I first enrolled, but they were very friendly and worked with me.

Some programs at Bethel provide students with laptops or iPads. I can't imagine coming to school without one. The It people have been helpful when I asked questions.

McKenzie isn't known for its nightlife. Bethel provides plenty of activities for students to enjoy.
College Senior 2013-11-27T02:48:05Z
McKenzie has a mild four season climate. It shouldn't affect your campus experience.
College Senior 2013-11-27T02:45:30Z
McKenzie is a rural small town so adjust your expectations accordingly. What it lacks in high-end features, it makes up for in small town charm.

I don't really participate in Greek life, but my friends who do love it, and if your not in it you are still informed of the activates and invited to join them.

Off campus dining is really good, the places are very close by and are of average variety. There is even a Dominos that stays open late and will deliver to residents on campus. And if you like ethnic foods, say Chinese then there is the China Lantern with fair price and fair food. Also just a mile or less from there you can pick up great Mexican cuisine.

You don't have to have a car. One of my roommates does not have one and she gets around just fine. The town and a dollar general is within walking distance, and you don't really need to leave campus. The nearest Walmart is about twenty minutes away in a car, but there is nothing else really close. Jackson is about a hour away in a car, and is the biggest city in these parts.

You pay for the computer that they give you in your tuition so it is "free". It is a very good computer, and there is wireless at the school that is pretty reliable. It is convenient to bring your own printer, but if you use the library it is only about ten cents per page.

Health & Safety:
There is little to no campus crime. You will hear occasionally of a phone being stolen, but that is about it. I feel very safe here. The clinic is located on campus and is available in case you have the flu or need a checkup.

Walking to classes in the rain isn't fun, but don't you have to do that at every college? It is a very small campus, and you can walk across it in five minutes at the most.

If you have a dorm you have to pay for meals as well. The food is good if you are not looking for healthy options.

Guys & Girls:
Students are a range of different personalities. You can find just about every stereotypical click on campus though.

Parking at this school is good if you are not a commuter. The dorm parking is great, but commuter parking is farther away and unpaved.

I do like this school. It is about two hours away from home, and just far enough to be away from the family without being halfway around the world. The classes, student activities, and overall feeling of the school is comforting and fun. I would choose to go to the same school all over again and would not regret it.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T03:49:26Z
This school is filled with primarily Caucasian students. There are plenty of international students, and the political beliefs, religions, and economic background are pretty much diverse.

The nursing program is great. The program has a schedule set out for nursing students for us to follow. The workload as a freshman is easy, and the outlook is encouraging.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T03:45:28Z
The professors at Bethel are awesome. I have only heard students complain about one professor, and he should be retiring soon. The registration progress was easy, but not much information was given about the school beforehand. Other courses like PA, criminal justice, and accounting are what many of the students are participating in.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T03:39:44Z
I have not been accepted to the nursing program yet. That is only for juniors and above.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T03:39:43Z
I have not had a internship at this school. I do not plan on having one because I am in the nursing program.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T03:37:27Z
I was able to receive a good couple of scholarships from the school its self for being in a sport, my grades, and for living in the area.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T03:34:45Z
This school does not allow you to live off campus unless you live in a 100 mile radius of the school
College Freshman 2013-11-11T03:32:51Z
I have no idea. I have yet to attend any of the parties at this school.
College Freshman 2013-11-11T03:31:36Z
There are plenty of restaurants in the small town of McKenzie, TN, but not much else. The school has plenty of activities and sports events to go to, so there is no reason to be bored at this school. This is a VERY safe school. I am not afraid, or worried about getting robbed at this school. It is a very quaint and beautiful town.
