I chose this school because I am a running start student and it is the closest community college to where I live. I have loved almost all of the classes I have taken thus far. The only thing I do not like is how hard it is to get into certain classes.

The resources on campus are not that bad. Usually there will always be someone there willing to help you with anything. There are study rooms, a nice library with a lot of computers, and other cool places where you can either hang out with friends or do homework.

Being accepted into the Nursing Program was a huge accomplishment for me. I use to go to a university down in California. There I applied for the nursing program and I was denied only because I was 3% off on my TEAS scoring. This was a learning process for me. I then decided to come here to Big Bend. At first I saw it as only a "community college" but then after attending my first quarter here I began to like it. The people are friendly and since I've been accepted into the Nursing Program Level 1 , the faculty have helped me arrange all my paperwork to be accepted and ready for the program this Fall. The instructor had a one on one session with me about what courses I would be taking and what was expected of me. She had me take notes and again was available to talk to at orientation, which is 2 weeks before classes begins. During orientation the rules and all the online programs we would be taking for the program were explained in detail. For the program all students are supposed to get 80% ore better to continue. The workload is harsh but if you have a supportive family and peers group along with prayer you will make through. To get accepted you must have some type of experience and your pre-request classes, along with a CNA license which BBCC can help you get. The program is designed to help you pass the NCLEX exam at the end of the 2 years and to only have the best of the best nurses. After all you want someone who really knows their stuff out there on the field. Big Bend has done a great job with this program and I encourage all who are looking to be LPNs or RNs should come here.

Big Bend Community college is close to home for me and is the least expensive but highly successful community college around. I'm in the Nursing Program and will be graduating the year 2015 and so far I have seen the expectations they have for me to succeed and I would have to say they are pretty high but well worth it at the end. Most students who finish the nursing program at BBCC get hired right way because the employers know how difficult it is to pass this program. So doing well in school makes an impact on who will hire you. Also I'm involved in a new club "L.I.G.H.T", Living In God's Holy Truth, which invites all students to come and do Bible Study together while socializing and taking turns helping the Moses Lake community. This is a new club and I was involved in the process of creating it. So BBCC helps make creating new activities/clubs pretty simple.

On the Big Bend campus there are posters posted in the gym, library, and classroom doors announcing when club activities will occur and how much it costs to attend. The $5 you pay to attend the activities go towards the school ASB program. And the ASB plan more events using the money.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
For me the financial aid process went smoothly. I think this is because I'm in the Nursing program here at Big Bend and the instructor walked me through the extra fees for classes and how to be prepared for the upcoming academic school year. My parents helped me fill out my financial aid online with FASFA and I received my class schedule with the financial statues on the bottom. However, my brother also applied for financial aid and he is still trying to get things situated because of a lack of information on which institution to get his financial aid from. My brother is was in need of assistance and it took him a while to get help on what step to take next for his financial aid to be approved.

My Big Bend email is always working but at times has gone offline for workshop repairs. The internet connection is fine in the library and helps me when I need to study on the computer for class. Printing on the computers is a breeze. The college has a $15 start out rate that is already in your account to use for printing, its great! Overall I think the computer network works fine and has multiple internet sources...Internet 10 and Firefox.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Tuitionb is offent lower than other colleges that i know of. Financial aid is easy to apply for and their is always someone who can help you if you have questions.

All the computer sources at the school are in good condition. There is a variety of places where we can get online and use computers to aid us in our work. Even though the wifi system does not reach every building on campus, when it is available it is fast and easy to use.

Though I am just startiing out in the my degree field i find there uis very little face to face time with students and teachers. The workload is normal and there are many job opportinites that the school will assist you with getting.

There are plenty of resource areas in the school. It has everything a school needs.
College Sophomore 2013-07-16T19:46:48Z
I would like to see some more face to face time between teachers and students in all areas of study.
i.e. Early child hood education. 2/3 of classes are online based and there is little to no student to teacher face to face time.

the library is a very useful place at big bend because that is where everyone goes to use the computers.

Our college is the smallest in the state but it is a fun college to be at. all the instructors are really nice and know what they are teaching about.

I think that tuition is a little high but your education is worth it
College Sophomore 2013-02-25T20:54:49Z
I think some of the teachers have to big of a class load and don't have the time to help students if they are struggling. I think our registration process needs work because its really frusturating to not get the classes you need and have to take dumb classes you don't need just to keep your cedits at 12 so your considered full time.
College Sophomore 2013-02-25T20:45:43Z
I am working towards getting into the nursing program. Most of the classes are helpful but I don't think they should require Chemistry and Cell Biology just to get into A&P.

We have a sister school in Japan I believe and we have mixed races on campus which makes for a "who cares what their color might be" type atmosphere.
