More importantly, many have found a home at Binghamton, raving about the people they have met and the opportunities the school has provided. And why not? As a large and highly competitive public institution, Binghamton attracts a wide variety of talented students and faculty. No matter what you are interested in, you will have an opportunity to explore it at Binghamton, as well as expand your experiences. The key is to get involved. Nobody is going to hold your hand and guide you through school, but if you search for even a short time, you are bound to find your place.

It is true that Binghamton is not a school for everyone. If you are looking for the atmosphere of a large party or athletics-oriented school or the hands-on attention of a small private school, you will not find what you are looking for at Binghamton. However, if you are looking for a balanced overall experience that combines strong academic pursuits with a lively social atmosphere, Binghamton might be a great match for you. Add to this the affordable price tag, and you have one of the best bargains around.

Why I Would Choose Binghamton Again

Binghamton University is a very science and business based school. Since I am obviously a science major, I can easily get along and have conversation with most of the students and faculty that attend Binghamton. The day and night life vary every day which I also enjoy. I never had problems while I was here except for a short spurt of homesickness in the beginning. Meeting new people and learning new things decreased my need to be home.

Peer Pressure

Although there is a share of substance use at Binghamton University, peer pressure is not a problem. The only peer pressure someone may experience are friends convincing a night out.

Diversity

The diversity at Binghamton University is reasonably widespread. There are a lot of international students as well as professors and teaching assistants. Although most people come from New York or New Jersey, there are plenty of other students from around the world.
