College Prowler Take
While some students show disappointment with the school’s facilities, professors, climate, and social scene, most come away from Binghamton with an overall positive opinion. More importantly, many have found a home at Binghamton, raving about the people they have met and the opportunities the school has provided. And why not? As a large and highly competitive public institution, Binghamton attracts a wide variety of talented students and faculty. No matter what you are interested in, you will have an opportunity to explore it at Binghamton, as well as expand your experiences. The key is to get involved. Nobody is going to hold your hand and guide you through school, but if you search for even a short time, you are bound to find your place. It is true that Binghamton is not a school for everyone. If you are looking for the atmosphere of a large party or athletics-oriented school or the hands-on attention of a small private school, you will not find what you are looking for at Binghamton. However, if you are looking for a balanced overall experience that combines strong academic pursuits with a lively social atmosphere, Binghamton might be a great match for you. Add to this the affordable price tag, and you have one of the best bargains around.

Binghamton is not a pretty place, but the only reason I am here is because of the people. In the long run, it’s not the place, but rather the people that make your stay either a pleasant or a horrible experience. I wish I’d gone to a prettier place, but by no means is it ugly. |

I did consider transferring when I was a freshman, but I met a lot of great people, and I did not want to leave. I know a couple of people who hated their experience at Binghamton—they complained that there is nothing to do, but you have to look for it, because it really doesn’t come to you. |

Binghamton is the best choice I’ve ever made. Sure, it has its flaws—I’m from New York City, so I’m not used to the smallness of the town—but the people are amazing, the opportunities are amazing, and the teachers are mostly great. |

I wouldn’t trade the experience...
I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. I’ve made a lot of great friends, learned how to do a lot of stuff on my own, and have really grown over the last few years. I made the right choice in going to Binghamton. |

I love going to Binghamton. Complaints aside, I’ve had a great time. I’ve never gotten bored in Binghamton, and I’ve always been excited to come back after breaks. |
