the weather effects us greatly, because the roads are simply built on mountains. it is very hard to get around at times when it snows.

Bluefield State has different ethnicities from all over the world. People are very good at welcoming them into their group(s) of friends. The campus is made up with people who come from different religions, economic backgrounds, religion.

The accountancy program is one of the best. It is a nationally accredited program, so no matter where you go, a job can be waiting on you. They give you chances to be an intern either locally or with the Walt Disney World Internship program.

Bluefield State has a small campus environment. You get to know and talk with your professors. Registration is quick and simple to go through. Bluefield State is a very good school to go to and continue your education.

BSC is very limited in its academic offering. Unless you want to be an engineer or a nurse, this probably isn't the right place for you.

This is truely four seasons country. We see it all. At the beginning of the week, it might be rainy, then bright and sunny by the next day and snowy by the end of the week.

The computer labs are great but trying to find a spot in a lab is impossible.

This is Bluefield, WV we're talking about. There isn't really much to do expect go to the mall or go to Wal-Mart.

The drug scene isn't a huge problem. A lot of people smoke weed but it doesn't really cause a distraction or problem on campus.

The process of getting into the nursing program is slightly difficult. The main things are filling out the application specifically for the nursing program, and taking the TEAS test. The most important/required criteria is having a 2.8 high school GPA or higher, passing Chemistry with a "C" or higher (Chemistry may be taken in high school or college. Either will count towards the pre-reqs required), and passing the TEAS test. The most difficult thing is passing the TEAS test. There are not any abnormal processes. I recommend taking a year to do pre-reqs before actually doing the program. It looks better when applying.

the programs at BSC is excellent. You have knowledge after the classes once you graduate. I went to school at BSC and graduated in 2002 and came back for a different degree because the program value is great.

You have to know about the scholarships before you can apply for them. The scholarship information is not readily available to the students to apply for them and they are hard to get.

Not a lot of options and eventually get tired of same food from same restaurants. Quality of food has decreased in past few years due to economy and you can tell they have went to a cheaper brand of food to serve.

To get accepted into the nursing program you must past the entrance exam. I did not pass it the 1st year which automatically makes me go to school 5 years. They will only allow you to take the entrance exam 1 time each year compared to other schools that accept it 3 times and some schools do not require it at all. They only accept 24 nursing students a year. I am waiting to see if I passed it this year.

I'm in the Radiologic Technologist program. There was a test you had to take as an application to the program. On the Bluefield Campus there were only 14 students accepted yearly. The test scores, GPA, and I'm sure others things all are what determines if you get accepted into the program.

The are a wide variety of degrees at BSC. Most degrees are hands on, which makes it so much easier to learn.

Bluefield State offers housing on and off campus. The off campus housing isn't far at all, about 5 minutes. I personally don't stay in campus housing, but the people that I know that do seem to enjoy the atmosphere.

I am moving up from an LPN to a RN, and I do not have anxiety about finding a job, but getting through school.
