Bob Jones University Reviews
Rating 3.92 out of 5 1,121 reviews
The education is good, and my professors are all great! But unless you are qualified to be a town student, I would never recommend that you attend this place. They force you to pay good money for a meal pass, but the food is not only not tasty, but much worse it is mostly all half rotten and fake. When they do very rarely actually serve real meat, the staff will ensure that you at most get 2 oz of protein per serving. The only way to get halfway full is by waiting in the 10-20-minute lines 2 or 3 times. I have lost 5-10 lbs. every semester! You feel nonstop either hungry or sick from food poisoning, so you really must choose your poison. What we want as a student body isn't more variety and local milk, we simply want real food served in reasonable portions, that isn't on its last day before expiration, and on clean dishes. The DC is a sad disgrace to Christian exceptionalism and the protestant work ethic.
I chose to attend BJU for the Christian environment and the academic challenge. I knew I would be pushed to my limits and stretched academically while attending this college. I would also be pushed to become a better person through core classes and extracurricular opportunities. I also knew I would be encouraged spiritually with daily biblical instruction and personal, discipleship-focused relationships. BJU is focused heavily on traditions, with some holding on possibly too long. Some rules and expectations are somewhat outdated, but these are only small downsides to the mountain of positive experiences I've had thus far.
My overall experience at Bob Jones has been wonderful and I would not change it for the world. Everywhere has there downsides, but I have had so many amazing experiences here, including-but not limited to-being in a grand opera, and understudying a Broadway actor for Disney's Broadway Musical Beauty & the Beast. Best place ever!
