It is not hard to find off-campus housing. In fact, Greenville has nice and affordable apartments. Unfortunately, the majority of students cannot enjoy this opportunity since BJU only allows students 23 years of age and older to live off campus. The off-campus students (or townies) say that it is worth it to move off campus since they do not have to follow the residence hall rules. The bedtime rule makes resident students want to rent their own apartment. However, there are benefits to living on campus. The students have easier access to labs and work. There are pros and cons to living on and off campus, but the majority of students would choose off-campus housing.

Greer is a popular area where many townies find their apartments. It is only 15 minutes away from campus, and traffic tends to be fast.
