Arizona State University Students Tell It Like It Is
What do Barry Bonds and David Spade have in common? Sure, they're both fun to laugh at, but more importantly, they both went to Arizona State!
If you want a place that has what seems like infinite sunshine, the best nightlife and social scene you could ever ask for, and a wealth of academic choices and opportunities, then ASU just might be your school. In the heart of a growing city, Arizona State in Tempe has been a wonderful and special experience for many.
'I wouldn't have gone anywhere else for all the tea in China. Then again, I'm not a big fan of tea. Regardless, opportunities for students are amazing and out-of-state tuition is very cheap compared to most other schools. The education is top-notch, especially the business, architecture, public programs, and education departments. The campus is awesome, and the staff is very helpful.'
But not every student is as satisfied, especially with ASU strictness, parking, and Tempe transportation.
'ASU Police are way worse about drinking than the Tempe Police. If ASU catches people underage drinking, they'll get a MIP (minor in possession) without a doubt. The Tempe Police are more concerned about drinking and driving than about drinking underage in general.'
'Parking sucks, and it's expensive, too. Underclassmen get crappy parking by the stadium and there are long lines to renew passes every year.'
'Public transportation in Phoenix is a joke. If you come from anywhere that has a well-working public transportation system (Chicago, NY, San Fran) you will be highly disappointed and forced to drive if you want to go anywhere. Sorry.'
Does ASU have what it takes to make you part of the 'I wouldn't have gone anywhere else' crowd? Get the pros and the cons straight from the students' mouths.

The College Prowler Process
While writing our series of college guides, we felt it was critical that our content was unbiased and unaffiliated with any college or university. By hiring current students as authors, we strive to create college guides that truly represent each campus. Our guides cover both the good and the bad, and whether survey responses point to recurring trends or varying opinions, these sentiments are directly and proportionally expressed through our guides.
From the very beginning, student writers gather the most up-to-date stats, facts, and inside information on their colleges. They fill each section with student quotes and summarize the findings in editorial reviews. In addition, each school receives a collection of letter grades (A through F) that reflect student opinion. Once a guide is written, additional college students serve as editors and check for accuracy even more extensively. This same process is applied to all of the 258 colleges and universities College Prowler currently covers. Each guide is the result of endless student contributions, hundreds of pages of research and writing, and countless hours of hard work. All of this has led to the creation of a student information network that stretches across the nation. It’s no easy accomplishment, but it’s the reason that our guides are such a great resource.
