Simmons College Students Tell It Like It Is
Ironically, the all-female Simmons College in Boston was founded by a man. Not ironically, his name was Simmons.
While its undergraduates are all female, today Simmons' graduate studies incorporate both men and women. Co-ed graduate programs include health studies, education, liberal arts, communications management, social work, and library and information science.
For those students new to the Boston area, they won't be disappointed. Boston is one of the best college towns in the nation. It's home to the first underground subway system, public library, and public park in America. The Simmons campus looks like a quintessential New England campus, with brick pathways and trees lining students' walks to class.
'Boston is the best town to go to school in. It is surrounded by all different colleges and universities, in a really hip, fun setting with plenty to do.'
'There are lots of other universities and colleges around, so during the school year, there are lots of people our age out and about.'
So even though the undergraduates are of one persuasion, Boston provides a great background to meet new people ? whether they be male or female.
'Mainly, the only guys you see on campus are employees or boyfriends. But there are many good-looking guys around Simmons at Wentworth and Northeastern!'
'Of course, there will be the occasional male or two in one of your classes, being part of the Colleges of the Fenways, and you will see the male graduate student in passing, but for the most part, to find guys, you'll need to wander off campus.'
Visiting campus isn't enough.

The College Prowler Process
While writing our series of college guides, we felt it was critical that our content was unbiased and unaffiliated with any college or university. By hiring current students as authors, we strive to create college guides that truly represent each campus. Our guides cover both the good and the bad, and whether survey responses point to recurring trends or varying opinions, these sentiments are directly and proportionally expressed through our guides.
From the very beginning, student writers gather the most up-to-date stats, facts, and inside information on their colleges. They fill each section with student quotes and summarize the findings in editorial reviews. In addition, each school receives a collection of letter grades (A through F) that reflect student opinion. Once a guide is written, additional college students serve as editors and check for accuracy even more extensively. This same process is applied to all of the 258 colleges and universities College Prowler currently covers. Each guide is the result of endless student contributions, hundreds of pages of research and writing, and countless hours of hard work. All of this has led to the creation of a student information network that stretches across the nation. It’s no easy accomplishment, but it’s the reason that our guides are such a great resource.
