It's Alright – You can get diversity if you really are willing to put yourself out there. But as far as the entirety of the campus goes, its not happening.

It's Alright – THe library is great, but the recreational center needs help

Convenient, Delicious! There are a lot of off campus options and many places will deliver. Eagle's Deli is my favorite, their food is delicious! I wish some of the places had student discounts, but in general the food is affordable.

Housing Lottery Needs Improvement – The housing isn't that great, though I've never had a problem with it. As a freshman, Newton campus is the best place to live. The dorm rooms are bigger than on main campus and it is like living in your own community. All of the seniors love living in the mods but they definitely need some improvement. Walsh should be knocked down. The housing lottery doesn't seem fair and it is very stressful.

Health & Safety:
There are plenty of police officers and they arrive quickly when you call them. I have never been in a situation where I have needed to call the police for a safety concern. I wish there were more lights on campus for students walking around at night, and more emergency call buttons.

Drugs Aren't Too Noticeable to Me – I don't find drug use to be TOO huge of a problem. But maybe that's just in my immediate group of friends.

Covers Many Subjects, Close Department – The Theater Department at BC is a very tight community. Most students have personal relationships with all the professors within the department. The professors know their area of expertise well and the department as a whole covers a wide array of subjects within the world of theater.

Jersey Trash and White Wash – Too many Jersey kids. Barely any diversity at all. The international students all know each other and any minority students have their own little cliques. The white students are the majority of all students at BC. People don't care about diversity as much as they should.

With the lack of parking space and construction going on, there's absolutely nowhere to park for free on campus. Pricing for parking is around $300 a month! Ridiculous! No way am I bringing my car on campus if I have to pay that much. I'll wait till I live off-campus...

Police Have Eyes in the Back of Their Heads – The police force is strict about underage drinking and drug use. First-time offenders get a letter home and a mandatory drinking awareness class, and second- and third-time offenders are in danger of losing their housing. It's a serious if you get caught, so do everything discreetly if you're going to do it at all. If you're going to drink, don't start advertising keg parties or wild ragers in your room. You'll be sorry. Just be discreet.

Health & Safety:
Never Felt Unsafe – The area around Boston College is known to be one of the safest places in the country. There is minimal crime if any at all and campus police are always around. If you need help, an emergency intercom tower is usually within sight with a glowing blue light on it. All in all I'd say our campus has great security measures and is very safe.

Guys & Girls:
BC Bro is the primary type of guy that you'll find at Boston College. Lax pinny, high socks, oakleys, blond hair, salmon shorts. They can be really sweet and funny and nice, but a lot are just jerks. I would recommend trying to form friendships with these guys instead of trying to date them. Get to know they guys that have similar interests as you and genuinely try to get to know you. Those are the ones worth dating.

Boston Is So Cool! Being to close to the city of Boston is absolutely amazing. There's so much to do all the time. There's awesome shopping and places to eat. There are museums and aquariums and we're 20 minutes from Fenway Park! The arts are absolutely fantastic. There's always an inexpensive and awesome concert to see! There's also so many other schools to visit and other college students to meet. Boston is the perfect college city.

Repetitive, but Very Good – There are a lot of choices at BC for dinning. There is no fast food near BC, but a lot of small chain restaurants not too far.
College Senior 2012-05-16T07:55:05Z
the libraries are easy to get to and there is always an open computer. They are print stations there also for quick printing

Teachers Are Brilliant – Every teacher is held to high standards if they want to continue to work at BC

Take the T – Parking is very difficult to find if you do not have a permit. The permits are really expensive and are only available for upper class students. Honestly the train stop is very close to the school and you're better off taking the train to grocery stores, bars, malls. It is easy to do and more convenient.

Recent Happenings – I used to think it was very safe but recently an abducted student was found in the nearby reservoir and another female student was attacked. It isn't as safe as I thought.

The Truth – The school's located very close to the city and the social scene on campus is actually pretty great. However, if you are a minority student it can be very difficult for you both on campus and in the city. Very difficult.

Health & Safety:
BC offers many options to students for their safety including an escort service for students walking to their dorms late at night. The campus has been pretty safe since I've been here and security is top-notch.
College Sophomore 2012-05-09T14:38:43Z
Pretty Good – There are a lot of options between city scenes and the campus for student 18+ and 21+. People here like to stay on campus, but we do get a lot of students from other schools too.
College Junior 2012-05-08T03:30:40Z
There Is Almost None – If you want to have a car, you will pay 200 per month, plus 15 bucks a day to park on campus if you want to drive to class, but the great aprt is, you dont need a car, or really want one
College Junior 2012-05-08T03:26:15Z
Everyone Drinks and Smokes – Almost everyone Drinks at BC, (and this is a great thing) thats just a fact. If you arent drinking, you usally only hang out with the VERY small group of non drinkers. Most weekends are spent pregaming hard, then drinking more at the party if the keg hasnt run out. Most everyone smokes too, some more than others, but few will turn down a hit. Finally with hard drugs, most of the kids who go to electroic shows roll, but not all (such as myself). you will find people doing everything, but mostly just drinking and smoking.
College Junior 2012-05-08T03:21:37Z
Great Options, at Around the Cost of on Campus Living – The off campus housing at BC is great, being at or a bit above the cost of on campus living. The off campus houses at BC are all located in one area, where BC runs a free shuttle bus to the main campus. This is great beacuse even when you live off campus (most do junior year, some sophmore year like myself) you are still close to both on and off campu friends. There is something for everyone to, from 1-4 bedroom apartments to 8-10 bedrooms houses to throw huge parties in
College Junior 2012-05-08T03:17:00Z
Its the Best of Everything – BC is amazing. and thats coming from a freshman guy. You have the best of everything, you get the house parties you would find at a surban or rural school, with acess to the Bars, Clubs, sporting events, and concerts that Boston has, making it the best of a surban school and a city school. The girls are beautiful, and dress up extremly well for the weekend nights, and most dress nicely for class. No sweatpants or pajamas to class here. Everyone is pretty friendly, and regardless if you live on upper or newton as a freshman you will love it (newton campus is much less strict) And each year it only gets better. I had the best freshman year i could ever ask for.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
