Parties on campus are okay, but off-campus parties are great. The bar scene is pretty good around town, and if you venture into Boston, the bars are awesome.

Boston is a great college town, and the other universities nearby have similar students.

There is almost no parking on campus, and no freshmen or sophomores bring cars.

The dorms are okay. I lived on Newton campus, which actually wasn't as bad as everyone says it is.

I love BC, and I would definitely come here again. I just remember sitting in the quad in spring talking with my friends, and it makes me happy.

Teachers are really hit or miss at BC because though all are smart, some have better teaching styles. Pre-med is so much work here.
Recent Alumnus 2009-02-19T14:43:51Z
The food at BC is great, especially Addie's and Eagle's Nest.

Health & Safety:
BC is extremely safe because we have so many police officers. It would be stupid to keep your doors open, but it's not dangerous

Varsity sports are one of the main focuses at BC, while intramurals are for the regular people who got in on academics.

They're strict about drugs, and they pretend to be strict about drinking. Sometimes they can get annoying, usually in the beginning of the year, and then they calm down.

It's very convenient for junior year. Almost everyone lives off campus that year, so other students are close by, and the bus system is decent. Living off campus was one of the best experiences I've had at BC.

The weather sucks in Boston, but that's no surprise. Pack every type of weather clothing because it can be 70 one day and 32 the next. It makes you appreciate the good weather that much more.

The parties are the best off campus. The Mods are really fun, too, but kinda weird to go to if you don't know people. The social scene totally changes from year to year but is fun no matter what.

Guys & Girls:
The girls and boys can be annoyingly typical at BC. Most of them are preppy and were athletes in high school. Almost all are pretty smart and know it. The girls are better looking than the boys.

The facilities are good. The libraries are awesome, and there are like 10 different ones that you can go to. The gym kind of sucks but has everything you would really need to do a workout routine.

The restaurants are so good off campus. There are plenty of different choices close to campus and even better if you venture into the city. The best is Stephanie's on Newbury Street, but you have to take the T.
Recent Alumnus 2009-02-18T00:04:40Z
It's not easy to park, and freshmen can't bring a car. It's kinda a pain in the butt when people try to have friends visit, but it's not like a constant bother.
Recent Alumnus 2009-02-17T15:36:52Z
It's more diverse than my high school, but BC hasn't quite made it in terms of diversity.

Everyone blazes and some people do coke, but mostly it's just drinking.
Recent Alumnus 2009-02-17T15:33:51Z
I might go to a bigger school if I did this again.
Recent Alumnus 2009-02-17T15:33:35Z
The BC bus and the T are both reliable and good.

Boston is the best city in the world. There are tons of kids everywhere and always something to do. Don't go to the aquarium, but definitely hit up the Museum of Science and the laser light show.

The freshman and some of the sophomore dorms at Boston College aren't that great, but the rest of the upperclassmen housing is very nice. Freshmen should try to live on upper campus not Newton campus, and sophomores should try to get housing on lower instead of College Road.
Recent Alumnus 2009-02-17T03:35:30Z
I don't really notice a drug scene at Boston College. Most students don't smoke regularly, and drinking is far more common than any drugs.

Health & Safety:
The security is really good at BC. I almost always see cops patrolling when I am walking anywhere at night, and they will escort you home if you feel unsafe. The school has the blue-light service, as well as Eagle Escort, which will walk you places at night.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
