Boston is a nice city, although the city itself is not as bustling as other big cities such as Los Angeles. The city pretty much shuts down at 8 pm unless there's a sporting event going on. But even despite that, Boston has plenty activities to do, like museums, sporting events, restaurants, and the city is mostly filled with college students, so you're bound to meet people your age. Boston's a wonderful city, that's why so many residents take pride in it.

Computer labs are available virtually everywhere as well as printing on campus. Technology is always up to date and constantly being updated to benefit the students.

Boston College has two different bus circulations which are the Newton bus and the Commonwealth Avenue bus. The Newton bus runs from Main Campus to the Newton Campus, which is a mile away from campus. This bus runs every 15 minutes from 7am to 2am. The Commonwealth Avenue bus runs from Main campus to off campus every 15 minutes as well.

Boston is a vibrant city rich in US history with a concentration in the American Revolution. There is always something to do with a handful of free events each month. The city's train service makes all parts of the city accessible.

Boston is known for its amazing food options as close as Cleveland circle or a T ride away in the city

I picked BC for its phenomenal academics. The Jesuit emphasis and core really focuses on educating the whole student.

Financial aid this year has been a nightmare. The process is not explained well and the financial aid counselors seem apathetic and can do very little. Paying for BC is extremely stressful if you are middle class.

BC is very spirited. Athletics are HUGE, especially football, hockey and basketball. There are always a lot of great things going on: clubs put on shows, there's love your body week, and more. There's something for everyone at that university.

The food is average. I miss home food, but BC food will do. It's not fair though, you are forced to have certain dining plans depending on where you live. I don't think that's fair because I never use all of the money they give me for food. It should be allowed to go towards something else.

The libraries are beautiful, with multiple printers and Macs and PCs, along with plenty of seating. The workout facilities are also adequate, with multiple machines, weight stations, classes, and full courts for basketball, volleyball, etc. There is always something to do on the weekends, with scheduled events, concerts, and athletics.

Health & Safety:
BC is great when it comes to health and safety. They have BCPD and Eagle Escort for those who are out at the library late and don't feel safe walking back to their dorms. They also have the help seeking policy for those who get sick at parties. You won't get in trouble, you'll get help first, then you get to explain your side of the story. They also give self defense classes

New England weather is the best weather! I mean, it gets a little annoying when it snows, with all of the hills of snow but other than that, its great. The groundskeepers do a great job cleaning it up. BC is beautiful during the spring, summer, fall and winter.

This may be a school full of models and jocks, but make no mistake, this school's academic requirements will whip you into shape if you think you'll get an easy A

The two shuttles are very convent. Many stops around the area.

Athletics at Boston College are great. We have football season during fall semester and hockey during the end of fall semester and the beginning of spring semester. Our football team hasn't been going great lately, but we hope that they'll perform better with the new coach we just hired. Our hockey program has always been great. Our biggest hockey rival is Boston University, and those games are always a lot of fun. Many students go to away games, some as far as North Carolina. There are many sports that students not on varsity teams can participate in. However, spots on club sports are very competitive.

Overall diversity is low at Boston College. We fit our stereotype of having a white, upper middle class student body. There are many programs geared towards promoting diversity on campus, and many put on fun events throughout the year. However, students tend to hang out with people who are similar to them.

Housing is great at Boston College, for the most part. Housing works as a lottery system. Freshmen and some upperclassmen live in traditional dorms with common bathrooms. Other upperclassmen have the option of getting suites and apartment-style rooms. Options for junior and senior year include rooms with a full kitchen. However, freshmen can get placed in forced triples. Many sophomores are placed on College Road (called "CoRo" at BC), which is on upper campus and very close to freshmen dorms. The other dorms and the majority of the social scene at BC is on lower campus. Sophomores placed on CoRo feel left out of the scene other upperclassmen are enjoying on lower campus. What all BC students hope for is to get a modular (called "mods") their senior year. It's the best place to be as a senior: it's closed to anyone under 21 during tailgates and Marathon Monday and has its own green space and grill. It's the hub of the weekend nightlife at BC. However, they are a bit cramped and loud not only during the weekends, which could pose a problem if you prefer to study in your room. If you don't get a mod senior year, all other senior housing is great. Some seniors get placed in junior housing, but they make the most of it.

There is a shuttle bus that runs around campus which will take you to MBTA. There is also an MBTA station right across from campus.

Boston College is very similar to most private universities in the eastern coast country. Most of the population is white, rich, and preppy. However, there are a lot of programs on campus geared to promoting diversity. And there diverse people on campus but in marginal numbers. And the segregation on campus is visible. Most people stick to their own kind based on race and income.

Awesome housing for the most part! BC keeps facilities in great condition. The older you get, the better the housing gets!

Facilities are kept up to top quality, and a great facilities team is almost always on call in case things go awry.

Pretty nice--facilities team is almost always on call in case something goes wrong, but for the most part the place is beautiful!

Professors at Boston College have fantastic credentials, and although introductory class sizes are often times larger, higher level classes are generally small and seminar style, and lead to close relationships with the professors. The larger size of Boston College, compared to smaller liberal arts colleges around the area, allows for greater course offerings and the opportunity to really specialize within a department.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
