There is a shuttle bus that runs around campus which will take you to MBTA. There is also an MBTA station right across from campus.

Boston College is very similar to most private universities in the eastern coast country. Most of the population is white, rich, and preppy. However, there are a lot of programs on campus geared to promoting diversity. And there diverse people on campus but in marginal numbers. And the segregation on campus is visible. Most people stick to their own kind based on race and income.

Awesome housing for the most part! BC keeps facilities in great condition. The older you get, the better the housing gets!

Facilities are kept up to top quality, and a great facilities team is almost always on call in case things go awry.

Pretty nice--facilities team is almost always on call in case something goes wrong, but for the most part the place is beautiful!

Guys & Girls:
Very attractive, but wish people were more unique with more diverse interests.

Professors at Boston College have fantastic credentials, and although introductory class sizes are often times larger, higher level classes are generally small and seminar style, and lead to close relationships with the professors. The larger size of Boston College, compared to smaller liberal arts colleges around the area, allows for greater course offerings and the opportunity to really specialize within a department.

Guys & Girls:
I'd give the girls an A because for the most part they are attractive, smart, athletic, and hardworking but like to have fun. Both the guys and the girls are fairly preppy and have a lot of school spirit. The guys in general are not as good-looking as the girls, but most are nice if you stay away from the athletes.

The academics offered at Boston College are, of course, very strong. The professors I have had are all excellent, although I have had a bad experience with a TA teaching a class when he seemed not to be very qualified as a teacher. Every professor I have had seems to be intensely interested and incredibly knowledgable concerning his field, and they all do a good job with generating interest in the subject matter.

The food at Boston College is, in general, probably better than the food at most college dining halls. Of course it gets old, but there is decent variety, and also they occasionally do days where they feature food that is different and special. There aren't too many places to eat in walking distance from the school, but Chipotle, Starbucks, and other local dining options are a free ten-minute shuttle ride away.

If you live off campus, Boston College has a great bus service it provides that extends a pretty good length into the city. If you aren't living along the route, the train is also really easy to use and cabs are always quick and readily available. However both services are extremely expensive, in my opinion ($2.50 per train ride and $50+ for a cab ride to the airport).

Most of the facilities at BC are in good shape. The older buildings are in the process of being renovated or completely replaced. A brand new academic building was completed this year, and it is quite nice. However, certain aspects of BC could use some work, especially the gym. All in all, facilities at BC are top notch.

Students at BC live on campus freshman, sophomore, and senior year. Junior year is when most students live off campus. It is relatively easy to find an off-campus apartment. BC has a shuttle bus that runs from campus to Cleveland Circle, with stops where most off-campus apartments are located, making it easy to get to and from campus. Off campus housing is great because this is where many of the best parties are located. However, living off-campus can be very expensive, as the apartments are highly priced.

I am a Psychology, BS major (neuroscience, basically), which is very easy to declare. I am also pre-med, which is also easy to declare. However the hard part is not getting weeded out, or basically maintaining good grades in all the natural science classes. If you're willing to put in a lot of time and effort, you will do okay. If you are also naturally gifted, you will do even better.

The buildings on campus are beautiful, and studying in Bapst is almost intimidating for that reason. Almost every classroom is equipped with a smart board and/or projector. The Power Gym where the athletes work out is great, but everyone else has to use the Plex. The Plex is that ridiculous concrete circus tent thing that everyone asks about on tours. In fact, the building's absurd shape prevents the installation of an effective central AC system, so the climate inside is comparable to that of a tropical rainforest, especially on weekends when it's packed. It was built in the 70s, so I'm pretty sure whoever drew up the blueprints was whacked out on LSD. Waiting for a machine is all but guaranteed, and the pool is really beat up too. No one knows why it hasn't been replaced yet. BC has twice the financial endowment and half the population of BU, but their rec complex is like 3 LA Fitnesses stacked on top of each other plus a lazy river. Apparently there's a plan to build a new one, but not on Lower. Well not really a plan, just everyone agrees that we need a new one. So they're thinking of planning to build a new one. Probably. Congrats if you read all this.

Guys & Girls:
Pretty attractive campus. There's a good amount of impossibly hot girls wandering around, but for some reason all of them seem to be upperclassmen. Still, the average BC girl is definitely above average looking and in ridiculously good shape. Not sure about guys' looks but they definitely dress well and most are athletic. The overall fitness of the student body is tragically ironic because the Plex is one of the worst college rec complexes ever built. But that's a different review.

BCPD takes their job very seriously. There is no doubt in my mind about BCPD's effectiveness in any would-be crisis situation. This is probably due to the fact that they treat pretty much everything, including underage drinking, like a crisis situation. Any student who is visibly drunk will be breathalyzed, taken into custody and made to spend a night in the infirmary. My only legitimate complaint about the school is the way that alcohol-related offenses are handled. It's a well known problem, and the student government is trying to pass a new system, but as of right now most alcohol violations will put you on some sort of probation for at least 6 months and enroll you in a safety seminar program. As far as RAs go, there are a few who will give you a warning before writing you up, but in most cases, if you're caught, you're done.

Always available in all of the libraries of BC. Most are updated Macintosh and Windows.

BC dining is rated top in the nation. It offers high quality food. Although it may be exceptional, the fact that they serve the same things everyday, it starts to get old. So be sure to get the best food during culture nights!

Nightlife is okay in BC. It's pretty average for a college campus. People usually crowd in the Mods since we don't have frats. Freshmen guys will initially find trouble getting into parties. But as the year progresses and people start to know upperclassmen, getting invited gets pretty easy.

BC is near the B-line of the T, and convenient transportation allows you to go to Boston easily to access a wide variety of food. Four stations from the BC stop is a place called "Harvard Ave" and it offers a lot of ethnic Asian cuisine. The place has restaurants ranging from Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, and some sports pubs. Boston quite obviously is pretty diverse and offers any kind of food there is.

The BC buses are relatively on time and can take you many places in the area.

The winters can get pretty cold and many years there is a lot of snow. But spring can also be a very nice time as far as weather goes.

It is pretty easy to get written up for underage drinking but you get a warning for the first few offenses.

The B line station is right across the street from campus and if you need to go further in the city you can take to BC shuttle to the Reservoir train station. The BC shuttle goes around campus and to several places on Commonwealth Ave. There's a taxi stand infront of the B line train station and the Reservoir station.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
