College Prowler Take

You can find just about any type of food on campus at Boston College. From sushi to gourmet sandwiches, from international cuisine to American finger foods, BC has it all. Freshmen generally eat in Stuart or McElroy because it is closer to their dorms, while uppserclassmen dine at Lower. These three locations all serve the same type of foods, and try to switch up their menus as often as possible to keep things less monotonous.

Hillside Café is an especially popular place to grab a meal, serving gourmet toasted sandwiches, homemade potato chips (lovingly call “Frips”), and a variety of tasty dipping sauces. Lyons Hall, or The Rat, is located on Middle Campus and serves fast food—students stop here between classes for a quick hot dog or sandwich. Feeling especially classy? Try the fresh sushi or gourmet cheese platters. Eagle’s Nest is a student favorite, serving freshly tossed salads, soups in bread bowls, and ready-made wraps. If you have a sweet tooth, the Chocolate Bar is the place for you—it serves chocolate desserts, flavored coffees, and ice cream. Your meal plan covers all of these locations, and any student can eat at any dining hall on campus. Additionally, there are many nearby restaurants that will also accept your meal plan as a form of payment—some will even deliver right to your door!

The food on campus is truly...

The food on campus is truly exceptional. You should really invest in a meal plan if you are living on campus. There are five dining halls on campus, and they each offer a variety of good food. If you are living off campus or in a residence hall that has a kitchen, I would still invest in the Flex Dining plan, which offers discounts.

I actually love the food at BC! Whether you're eating at Stuart, McElroy, or Lower, you're guaranteed a good meal and plenty of variety. My favorite dining hall to study in is the Rat. My favorite for lunch is Eagle's Nest, and my favorite for dinner is Hillside. I love the coffee and deserts at the Chocolate Bar, too!

I think the food on campus is...

I think the food on campus is pretty good, although some of the dining halls tend to get repetitive. For dinner, a good option is Addie's, which serves organic pizza. For lunch, my favorite spot is Eagle's Nest. Hillside Café is also very popular but often extremely crowded. The meal plan is mandatory for freshmen, and if you are a girl, you will most likely have money left over at the end of the year.
