College Prowler Take
Alcohol is where it’s at for BC. Whether it’s house parties, the bar, or football games, people on campus love to drink. It can be difficult when you’re under 21 because it seems like everyone is drinking but you, which might not be that far from the truth. The BCPD is very strict about underage drinking, so you really are taking a major risk every time you drink on campus if you’re not of age. Once you turn 21, though, there is suddenly so much more going on. Pretty much everyone drinks on campus, so get your drinking hat on. If you don’t drink, you’ll be able to find other people to hang out with, but you might feel a little like an outsider. The illicit drug scene is not at all out in the open. It fluctuates in its popularity but is usually very quiet and not center stage, like as alcohol. While there are definitely people to see and places to go for any kind of drug under the sun, this type of activity isn’t usually popular with the majority of students. It’s there if you want it, but you can certainly avoid it if you’re not interested. Boston College administration and security officers are not tolerant of drugs. The school and its officials do not condone drug use of any kind, under any circumstances. Most students are afraid of the repercussions of not only the physical harm to their bodies, but also from the school administration if ever convicted of drug use. All in all, the drug scene is pretty tame. The alcohol scene, though, is a little more present.

Drugs are definitely present, but you can avoid them if you want to. Most people smoke, and some people do more, but you have to look a little harder.

It's not really that noticeable....
It's not really that noticeable. Most people drink, and depending on who you hang out with, people will smoke. There are rumors about more hardcore drugs, but nobody really seems to know who does them.

I don't really notice a drug scene at Boston College. Most students don't smoke regularly, and drinking is far more common than any drugs.
