Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Parking is pretty much non-existent on campus! Nobody has a car because BC really doesn’t let anyone have a permit unless they are a student nurse or teacher. Some students choose to find local businesses where they can pay for parking, but that can run up to 200 bucks a month. If you want to use your car to drive to class, be prepared to pay. New regulations of the parking garage charge students $3 an hour to park, with a maximum of a $20 fee per day. This may not seem like a big deal, but these fees add up—FAST! It’s really not worth bringing your car to campus—it’s such a hassle, and you probably won’t need it that often anyway.

Finding random spots in Brighton forces you to practically memorize the city parking restrictions and the timing of towing. Furthermore, parking on the streets surrounding Chestnut Hill is a royal pain, so if you are lucky enough to have your own car, it’s easier to just leave it at home with your folks. Plus, public transportation is good enough to get you where you’re going, and honestly, driving is crazy here anyway. The T and BC buses are much easier and cheaper.

Parking Prices Are Ridiculous

With the lack of parking space and construction going on, there's absolutely nowhere to park for free on campus. Pricing for parking is around $300 a month! Ridiculous! No way am I bringing my car on campus if I have to pay that much. I'll wait till I live off-campus...

Take the T

Parking is very difficult to find if you do not have a permit. The permits are really expensive and are only available for upper class students. Honestly the train stop is very close to the school and you're better off taking the train to grocery stores, bars, malls. It is easy to do and more convenient.
