For my freshman year at Boston College I was given a significant amount of aid that actually made the most expensive school on my list of prospective schools the most affordable for me to attend. This year however I found that the aid I received was less and I had to submit several extra forms to get some of it back. If you think your financial aid award is too low don't hesitate to contact the financial aid office and see if they can tweak anything for you; it is worth it to save whatever money you can.

At Boston College, Financial Aid and Scholarships are based on financial need. There are very few merit based scholarships. As long as the income of you and your parents fall into the appropriate tax bracket, you will receive some financial aid. Submitting the paperwork is not difficult, and the people in the financial aid office are very nice. As long as you are organized, the process should not be difficult.

Boston College offers decent financial aid initially, but once you speak to the office of financial aid, they are very understanding
