Special Options

  • The search for food can be overwhelming, especially when BU does not offer many 24-hour eateries. If vending machine candy bars are not doing it for you, try resources such as campusfoods.com.

College Prowler Take

While it is not uncommon to hear complaints about the food, most students will agree that BU is pretty hooked-up in that department. There is a huge variety and tons of places to use your meal plan around campus. To get your money’s worth, check out the specialty nights and the smaller eateries on campus. Remember, the meals are not refundable, but most of the plans provide many more meal than you'll actually need. If you do the math, each meal costs about $9, so eat up. Even if you just stop by for an ice cream, you may as well use the meals that you are paying for anyway.

The food at BU is conistently ranked one of the best in the country, which means someone’s enjoying it.  The presentation is very well done, too, so even if it doesn’t taste right, it looks like it should. Four years of the same food, however, will dull your taste buds.

I wish there was more options for vegans and vegetarians. I really like the Myles Dining Hall and West. The only place at the GSU that's really vegan kosher is the salad place, and maybe the burrito place.

The food on campus is pretty good, but it gets boring. There are lots of good restaurants and sub shops on campus. I don't have a meal plan anymore, but when I did, I chose one that offered me more points to use at places outside of the dining hall.

The dining halls are actually...

The dining halls are actually pretty nice. There is always a pretty good selection and always a variety of vegetarian options. However, it does get redundant since the same dishes are made over the semester. However, the George Sherman Union food court is extremely tasty. You can get a freshly tossed salad, Panda Express Chinese food, soup from a soup bar, freshly made sushi, and many other options.

The food on campus is alright....

The food on campus is alright. Sometimes they don't have many vegetarian options, but, other times, they get creative with the food. There are various options, but in some dining halls, there might not be any at all. The meal plans are way too expensive per meal considering the types of foods offered, especially to vegetarians, where half the choices offered in the dining hall are not an option.

Food Is Good, Lacks Variety

B

Food is good in the dining halls, but lacks variety. You tend to get sick of the dining halls towards the end of the semester. Not many options for restaurants accepting University dining points.
