Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Ah, yes, the drug scene. Most students agree that drugs are certainly a prevalent and available source of recreation on and off campus. No one, however, feels that this sort of activity is so rampant that it puts a strain on campus life. The drug scene, while visible, is easily avoidable, and students have the ability to choose their own scene. It is really easy to find people who are into, or not into, just about everything. The drugs most readily seen on campus are alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy. Many also note that pharmaceuticals are often considered a “useful tool” for completing schoolwork or distressing from academic life.

As in any city, there are fluctuations in what is available, and whatever is circulating tends to be overpriced. To be brief, various social circles have their various social vices. Pick and choose as you see fit.

Drinking/Pot Rules

West Campus has a huge drug/drinking culture. But other parts of campus (East) are better for those who do not drink. If you are a freshman who does not want to drink, it would be best to live in Warren Towers - a lot of people to meet with more chances to meet people who don't partake.

Depends on Who You're With.

Really truly depends on who you hang out with. You can easily find people who are completely not into drugs and alcohol, those who are complete stoners and those in between. A lot of drinking and cannabis goes on but that's to be expected with colleges. That being said, this campus is relatively safe. There's very little violence that comes from drug/alcohol use.
