Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students all have a suggestion for just about every type of cuisine you could ask for, and there are virtually no complaints regarding the food in Boston. Restaurants off campus vary as widely as the city—offering pretty much everything. Going out to eat definitely seems to be a popular activity, and the prices tend to be pretty reasonable, especially around campus.

Clustered around the University, especially in the Allston/Brighton area, where many students live, there are tons of really cheap options with really good food such as Indian, vegetarian, Mexican, Brazilian, Italian, Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese. Check out Chinatown and the North End for the best food in the city.

Off Campus Dining

I do not live on campus, and I am thirty-three years old. I have lived right outside of Boston my whole life, and have spent a lot of time in Boston-prior to my enrollment. Everything is great in Boston; food, sports, scenery, schools, hospitals, museums, and attitude.

Food Off Campus

Pretty good restaurants around the area. The north end has some great italian places that range from being too expensive for the average student to very affordable. Up and down Comm Ave. there are great food trucks and a few pretty good places to grab something to eat.

For late-night munchies, hit up a Store 24 or a Dunkin’ Donuts. Starmarket on Commonwealth Avenue is also a popular destination for late-night party dwellers, since it is one of the few places open 24/7.

BU offers Late-Night Cafès around campus at all of the traditional dining halls. Late-Night usually offers quesadillas, stir-fry, fried food, salad, fruit, chips, cookies, beverages, coffee, and the ever popular giant Rice Krispie treats.
