Advice

  • Life after college can be a scary concept, but the CareerPlanningCenter at BowdoinCollege does its best to make the transition easier for graduating seniors. With consortia set up with numerous other respectable schools and an online database better than that of many big universities, Bowdoin makes hundreds if not thousands of different job listings accessible to students. The staff at the CPC helps students create their résumés and acquire summer internships, usually before their junior or senior years. For those not graduating, Bowdoin’s CPC organizes and lists thousands of internships and jobs that both Bowdoin and other schools have found. The staff offers a wide range of workshops and clinics to help students get off on the right foot so that no opportunity will be left unseen. Just like everything in life, start early, plan your time and prospects well, and continue working hard without procrastination. Utilize the staff’s help, the workshops, the campus visits, the recruitment days, and all that the CPC makes readily available to you. Favorite professors are also a great resource. If you ask them for internship and job ideas, they are usually more than willing to help you find something that will suit your needs and aspirations.
