Facts

Interviews & Information Sessions

The admission staff conducts interviews most weekdays throughout the year, but because of the time involved in reviewing applications, no interviews will be conducted from January 1 through May 1. To make an appointment, call (207) 725-3100 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Eastern). Off-campus interviews can be scheduled from September 1 through December 15. However, interviews are not required, so your application will not be incomplete without one.

General information sessions are also offered and provide a one-hour overview of the College. Reservations are not required but are strongly encouraged.

Campus Tours

Tours last about an hour and are usually offered Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. through early December. Tours resume in February. Reservations are not required, but visitors are encouraged to register online ahead of time.

Overnight Visits

Overnight visits for high school seniors can be scheduled by calling (207) 725-3119. Overnight visits are limited by availability of student volunteer hosts. Official visits are only done Sunday through Thursday because the school doesn't want prospective students to be staying overnight when there is a high frequency of partying. You must register a minimum of two weeks before your visit.

Did You Know?

A select number of prospective students who would increase the diversity of the student body at Bowdoin are invited to attend special programs in the fall and spring.

During your visit, a good way to see if Bowdoin is a good fit is to spend some time just wandering around campus, immersing yourself among the students, and seeing if you feel comfortable in the atmosphere. Bowdoin can seem really appealing when it's being sold by admissions and all of its pamphlets. Of course, Bowdoin is a wonderful place, but it's not for everyone—get a feel for the campus without the bells and whistles.
