Though campus food is mediocre at best, a short adventure off campus to eat is worth the energy and gas money. Peorians love food, and they're willing to share it. From mom-and-pop-type restaurants to popular chains, Peoria has a little bit of everything, and it's not a far drive to find it. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance that represent a variety of nationalities. In a short walk, there's Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and Indian, to name a few. There are also American staples, such as cheap pizza, subs, and burgers in Campustown, just a block from Bradley.
If students somehow can't find something to eat close to campus, a short drive in any direction will take you to a variety of other restaurants, including fast food chains, steak houses, locally owned pizza joints, Chinese buffets, and upscale places you can take your parents to. If somebody would eat it, Peoria probably has it. There are a lot of choices, and it usually doesn't take long to be seated. Peoria prices are cheaper than big-city restaurants, so students won't go broke, either. And if you're not looking for a meal, there are plenty of places where students can grab a cup of coffee or snack and study.
