Off-campus dining makes up for the sometimes sub-par on-campus dining situation. Moody Street in Waltham is not just popular for Brandeis students but also has some Zagat-rated restaurants. However, most places in Waltham and on Moody Street won’t break your piggy bank. If you’re looking for a nice night out with friends, you have two main options. You can try out Moody Street, or you can go to Boston. Moody Street features restaurants of every ethnic variety, and you can always find a place to eat here. And since it’s located in small-town Waltham, long waits are few-and-far-between; the biggest problem you’ll face is an occasional lack of parking. Asian Grill and Bison County are probably the two most popular restaurants on Moody Street for Brandeis students.
Boston provides many more options for food. Harvard Square and the Prudential Building area are the two most popular places for people to go for a dinner. For a big appetite, FiRE + iCE is the best place. For smaller appetites, Dick’s Last Resort, P.F. Chang's,and the Cheesecake Factory are certainly great places to go for dinner. Just a heads up: if you go to dinner in Boston, you are going to either have to make reservations or wait a very, very long time.
