I live in what is probably the farthest from campus housing available. This is not fun....but I put up with it and walk. Most of the other housing is realistically close and I haven't seen an apartment that I found to be too shabby!

I've eaten several times on campus and it is highly mediocre food. To me, it's not worth the money to continue to eat there every day, so I bring my own lunch. The vending machine snacks are sometimes cheap and are conveniently placed where I need them.

Health & Safety:
I have never even thought about not feeling safe on campus, nor have I ever seen a police officer. We have a very safe environment, and sometimes I even leave my stuff sitting out while I go to the bathroom. Too trusting?? Maybe so...

The drug scene is literally the WORST! If you want to meet people to do that kind of stuff with, I would suggest trying a different college. However, I'm sure there are some people somewhere who drink and do drugs....but you never hear about them or see them.

I don't ever need to use the campus computers, but most of the time I am able to connect on my Macbook Pro. There are some buildings where the connection is poor (the common areas), but maybe that's because there are so many students using it. Other than that, I have zero complaints.

This is not a very diverse place, since we are technically a private school and we are Church-owned. However, this does not mean that we don't have our differences and that we don't accept others'. As far as accepting people who ARE different, I think we do an excellent job. That is the mindset of God, and it should be the mindset of His students.

It's probably the strictest environment I have ever lived in, but I believe that type of environment is necessary for serious students. If I wasn't at this school, I would personally maintain the same standards.

There isn't much to do around here except play in nature. That's great if you're in to that type of thing, but I'm not. I usually keep busy enough with school and work to not think about it, though.

I love my school because the class sizes are small, which allows for a more personal and tailored experience. Also, I believe that beginning every class with a prayer like we do here is one of the keys of my personal success.

Financial aid through the government is easy to get, but so far I have been unsuccessful in receiving any from the school. I am not totally positive why, but I meet the requirements and turn in the applications on time. Maybe a high demand?

As far as I know, there is no public transportation outside of carpools. Like I said, I leave my car at home unless I'm going somewhere far away from campus.
College Junior 2013-12-05T19:52:25Z
I own a car but do not drive to class. I walk because it helps me clear my head to deal with stress.

I have never had an official internship, but I will most definitely seek one out in my field (audio engineering) because I believe it will be beneficial to learn from those who have much more experience. I know quite a few people in the business, so finding something shouldn't bee too hard. I have been an apprentice of sorts at a recording studio in my home town.

I have never heard of this Greek life, but it sounds like the most wonderful of all organizations!

Guys & Girls:
The overall culture is to be yourself, people dress everyday to look their best and to prepare for their future careers.

Located in a city of 20,000 there is little need for public transportation. Walking, or borrowing someone´s car can get you anywhere.

Diversity is widely accepted. Being a school owned by a church it does however tend to be more homogeneous as far as religion and sexual orientation goes.

There are a number of places, but they are located about a mile away from campus.

There is not transportation at BYU-Idaho! The town is so small and campus is close that you don't need any transportation unless you are wanting to make trips out of town. Everything is in walking distance.

I have not been to school anywhere else except BYU-Idaho but it has been such a good experience. All the classes are great and the whole school works well with all their students.

The convenience of parking spaces is excellent. All parking lots are in convenient places and close to the buildings. The only thing about them is that they fill up quickly and there aren't enough for those that come on campus later.
