Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Campus housing is a little unique at BYU-Idaho because no matter where students live, their apartment complex must be designated as approved housing. This means their housing abides by the honor code, and all tenants of approved housing are registered BYU-I students, even though the school doesn’t own all student-approved housing complexes. However, most students make a distinction between campus housing and off-campus housing as being dorms versus apartments. The dorms are located at the center of campus near the Taylor Building and MC. Many freshmen choose to live in dorms their first couple of semesters and then after that select an apartment near the buildings they frequent for classes.

The dorms are much less roomy than most apartments, but they allow students to get a little more involved with the social atmosphere of BYU-I student life. Since many underclassmen have several general classes located all over campus, living in the dorms offers the benefit of close proximity to all campus buildings. Dorm residents are also better able to take advantage of the on-campus activities offered to students because they’re so close to everything.

CHEAP

There are a lot of affordable places at BYU-Idaho. They want all students to live near campus in approved housing, and I switch the place I live every semester and have been very satisfied. The most money someone can spend on an apartment here is about 1300$ for a semester. There are so many social activities that happen daily, and everyone is very helpful.

Clean, Very Small, Older

The dorms are full of very fun exciting people, however they are slightly older and there is not a lot of space. It cost a lot more to get a large or private room.

Small but Clean

The dorms, like most dorms are small, but they are well kept. They also have good atmospheres.
