Awesome Offcampus!

On campus dorms fill up really quick, but that's not a problem because off campus housing is GREAT. All of it is relatively close to the main campus. You have your choice of an apartment or house though most people live in apartments because they're cheaper and closer. Most apartments surrouding the area offer 6 men apartments. Make sure you tour the apartment before you commit because every one is different. There are a few places that offer private bedrooms, like Tuscany and the Ridge for ladies so if you need some space at night, defintiely the place to go. Really close to grocery shopping, great way to meet people too.

Class Size

I'm the type of person who learns better in a small class environment, and that's exactly what's offered at BYUI. Average class sizes are around 40-50 people and that just depends on the class you're taking. Because of the small class sizes, it's easy to build a positive relationship with your teacher, allowing for lots of discussion during or after class.

Athletics

There are athletics but not what you would usually see at a University. No Varsity Sports. There are competitions within the school. Co ed sports as well. It's more of having fun then competing.

Great!

Although it is a little harder to change your major if you have already had a lot of credits, it is fairly easy if you have just gotten into college. There is some paperwork sometimes, but there are great counselors to help you through every step.

The Nightlife and BYUI

There are opportunities to go dancing on campus, go to shows, and many other activities. the surrounding town does close down early so there aren't many late night options. We also have a curfew system of 12am for weekdays and 1am on weekends.

BYU-I Guys and Girls

BYU-I fosters an honor code system, which helps create the integrity and honesty of it's students. There are many dating opportunities and a great variety of guys and girls to choose from from across the U.S. and even other countries.

BYU-I Facilities

The facilities at BYU-I are fair. They are quite beautiful, it is very well taken care of, very clean, they are always making new renovations and adding more to expand the campus the library needed improving and is now improving. Very nice campus. BYU-I just acquired a new BIG auditorium and new work out center and testing center, including a new cafeteria with many places for study.

Idaho Weather

BYU-I is in Rexburg Idaho and here in Idaho we can have great summer weather but we also can have some pretty cold winters here. When it snows i always see students working on clearing the sidewalks on campus to make sure that they are clear and not icey. The weather really doesn't affect my campus experience at all.

Drug Scene

We don't drink here at BYU-I. If there is drinking or drugs going on it's not known.

The Pines

The managers are great and so nice. The rooms are clean and the appartments have great appliances.

Unique

This school strives for success in all that one does. The unique thing about this school is the people in it. The teachers care so much for each student and show it by clarifying how much they are worth. The students are respectable and honest young people who want the best for everyone around them aside for themselves. The academic discovery center here makes sure that each student is provided with the essentials to help guide themselves to a successful life with the major they choose. Internships are listed for them to take and try.

Not a Huge Variety

On campus, there is not a wide variety in the type of guys and girls you will run into. In order to find some variety and some people who go against the grain you have to go to concerts, restaurants, and generally the more "indie" events.

We Are a Unique People

The school I go to is very strict in its honor code and all attending must be up to par. Our social scenes are more calm than most schools. Drugs and alcohol aren't used to "enhance" the party. In fact, drugs and alcohol are considered uncool. Campus is not only used for education of most college standards, it is also a campus for spiritual education. Almost every class starts with a prayer. It helps so that we grow in more than just one way. The spirit here is unbelievable. There is a friendship here that doesn't exist other places. A feeling of acceptance. Many who graduate from here go on to greatly influence in the world. An all around good place.

Rexburg

Rexburg is a little town where a college squeezed in and changed the quiet town to a little more noisier. Snow by thanksgiving, and warm when it can be. Mountains are close by, sand dunes for bonfires, ices caves to go exploring, the snake river by. This area is perfect for out doors people. The college offers many activities to do. This town is fairly safe, I don't feel nervous walking by myself at night but you never know. Shopping is walmart and kmart but 30 minutes away is real civilization with a mall and good restaurants and stores. Town shuts down at 10.

Affordable, Nice and Social

In my opinion off-Campus housing is amazing! It's close to campus and very social. Some places have laundry mats a few doors down and some have laundry in each apartment. Cost is very reasonable and maintenance is great. Parking could be better but it generally all works out for everyone. And if you need any help at all, the school is very willing to help. Just ask and they will do their best to make things right for you. I honestly can't say anything bad - they're simply great.

Off Campus Housing

off campus housing is great. there is a wide selection all are at least good quality if not excelent. they are all withing walking distance of the school.

Girl to Guy Ratio.

the girl to guy ratio is great here. there is 3 girls to every guy!

Rexburg? More Like Iceburg.

Winter can start anywhere from late October to mid-November. If you've got a good winter coat and boots, you're fine. The school is really good about salting the sidewalks in the morning.

Nauvoo House

I love living at Nauvoo House. It's right off of campus, the apartments are great and there are some really awesome people living here. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Honor Code, Dress Code, and Student Living

Our school has a very strict dress code, Honor Code, and Student Living Program. I think it is really nice actually. There isn't a required uniform or anything, but we don't wear shorts, capris, flip-flops, tight or revealing clothing, or anything that goes against the standards set forth in the For The Strength of Youth pamphlet put out by the first presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We also have a rules pertaining to the opposite sex as far as visiting hours, pda, and appropriate activities. There are also rules about honesty and such as well as rules about church attendance and student activities.

Weather

It is cold here!!! But, it can be wonderful, if you see it that way! You almost always get snow throughout the summer, but it can warm up real well too! I love the weather, but most Californians don't. :)

LDS

There are many LDS at BYUI. Which is understandable because it is a Private school. It is nice because standards are keept higher. There are a lot of whites, and I notice that the different ethnic minorities tend to stick together, that being said there's still a lot of mingling.

Not Very Diverse

The school is a private school and most of the students come from a similar background. The diversity is therefore not great. But the girl to guy ratio is superb.

Athletic Facilities

The Hart building is an awesome place for people to go and get physically fit. It includes two different weight rooms, and several different gyms where students can exercise. Although our sports are only intramural and not competitive, students still participate in them. There is always opportunities to go and watch sports or join a team.

Campus Housing

Many students choose not to live on campus. There are off-campus housing placed all around the campus grounds, which are just as close as the Campus Housing apartments. Either way, both options are nice. The social atmosphere, cost, and all around feel of all the housing options are really good.
