Well I ride a scooter and there is always parking for me right up by campus! The students with vehicles are not so lucky.

Cheap and Nice - How Is That Even Possible? Living on-campus was an amazing experience for me. I got to know so many people and the on-campus housing I was living at was actually fairly nice apartments. I enjoyed living there very much. The best part was that they were way cheaper than anything else you can find in Provo for the quality that they were.

We Have It All – I love the library. It is awesome! You can really focus in there and get the studying done that you need. The sports are amazing. Our crowd gets way into it. The professors are great! I have loved all of my professors so far.

Because BYU is a private religious institution, there is not a lot of religious diversity. However, there is a vast racial diversity because students literally flock to BYU from all over the world.

Restaurants Near Campus – There are so many great places to eat near campus. Center Street offers a wide variety of ethnic diverse dining. For economical dining, there are several fast food restaurants on the west side of the campus. But there is no need to go off campus for fast food, the Wilkinson Center has a great variety of fast food restaurants.

There are few places in the world like it. Students here love that there are very few bad influences and that there is a lot of clean fun, and very little pressure to go against what they believe.

Considering the morals BYU requires its students to live by, hurting recruiting, the athletic programs are great.

There are a ton of restaurants nearby. Many are very unique, well priced and have good food.

Better With a Car – On campus transportation is unnecessary, but once you get into town a car is, not required, but extremely useful. The bus system is apparently not bad, but to the uninitiated fairly excruciating.

Guys & Girls:
Concerned With Looks – What can I say? We're Mormons. The girls are, for the most part, pretty, modest and concerned with their looks. The guys are also concerned with their looks (relationships and marriage are very important here).

I Have No Idea – I really have no idea... occassionally I see a Greek sign or a frat sign.

Night Life Is Different – The nightlife in Provo is very different because of BYU being a church school and the strong LDS influence in the area. But if you're considering BYU then you probably know that. That being said I have a lot of fun here, I do a lot of outdoor stuff.

The student facilities here are very good. The weight room and pool are great and relatively easy to use (aka they are usaully pretty accessible). The Wilc is a great central area for students. It had a bus stop out front and everything from a barbershop to student us computers inside. The library is great. I haven't found a better one anywhere I've been. The only think I would improve is accessibility to the library. You can only enter the North doors and it can be quite a walk to get there if you are on the Southside of campus.

Drug Use – There is hardly any drinking or drug use at BYU. If you do have a problem with it you can find those that are participating easily. But with the Honor Code in effect almost no problems with peer pressure and drug usage

For the most part BYU is not diverse at all. Of course we have lots of people from different countries, they are never a majority. Mostly white people who aren't necessarily racist but instead very willing and accepting. Very easy to fit in yet not a lot of diversity.

Health & Safety:
Absouletly Safe – There are almost no problems on campus in regard to personal safety, since most of the campus are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. For the most part people look out for others, with that said concern is still needed. You can't be completely oblivious.

Good Atmosphere – The campus is clean, sober and hard-working. Academics are top notch. Athletics are super fun, people are generally friendly and religious. There is a lot of diversity on campus. Many foreign languages are taught and spoken here. And the classes that you are required to take let you graduate with a religious baccalaureate degree.

Cheap, High Value, Some Sacrifice – The first thing is that if you can get in, you basically get a scholarship. I pay about 2,200 in tuition. That is amazing for the type of education you get here. Many of my professors have been Ivy League teachers or at least grads. So I feel like I'm getting an Ivy League education at a fraction of the cost. The only downside is the honor code. It can be exhausting to stay clean-shaven and remember the visiting rules. Once you are off-campus it isn't so bad. But I guess there has to be a downside. I love it here.

You Get What You Pay for. I stand by my title. You can find cheap or expensive places. Cheap places will be more run-down and you'll have more roommates. More expensive apartments come with your own room and are generally nicer. There aren't a lot of opportunities to find nicer places that are close to campus. Most of the close apartments have been there forever and are getting pretty worn out.

Pretty Conservative, Plain, and Boring – Provo does have nice people; however, there is just not much to do here. Luckily Salt Lake is only one hour away with everything you could want and need.

Their are many computer labs on campus, they even have 10 min usage computers all over the place if you need to look something up. In the major library sometimes you have to wait to use a computer, but the internet is pretty fast and it is easy and quick to print anything needed. You can even go to an area that has the ability to print specialized things.

Very Cold During Winter and Hot During Summer – It is really cold in winter and lots of snow!!
I am sick of snow... but also extremely hot during summer..

Great to Park Except Morning – First of all, you dont need for a car on campus which is great and aviailabiity and convenience of parking spcaces are good except in morning. it is all free!!!

Cheap and Close to Campus – I highly recommend to live on campus for freshman year, but after that it doesnt worth.
Social atmosphere on campus is good and cheap. It is close to campus, but the amenities are not very good and you have to eat every meal at cafeteria
Recent Alumnus 2010-08-13T16:30:12Z
I really don't like the parking situation. All the close spots are for Guests or Faculty. If you want to drive to campus you're most likely going to have to park 10 minutes from the center of campus
Sorry, there are no reviews.
