All of the computers and systems work well. The problem is that sometimes when everyone is trying to register for classes and such at the same time the connection is extremely slow because it is so busy.

It is hot and dry in the summer, and it is cold in the winter. Thunderstorms are practically non-existent. Snow and ice makes traveling to and from classes more complicated. It almost never rains, so walking is convenient.

Drugs are very limited at BYU. The honor code prohibits drug and alcohol use. Even smoking is prohibited. Most students avoid them anyway. Peer pressure is generally against drug use.

There are students from countries all over the world attending BYU. Most of the student population is, however, LDS. Students also come from various economic backgrounds. Many students share similar political and religious beliefs.

There is a zero-tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use on campus.

BYU Campus is beautiful and is always well maintained. The buildings are not of the greatest architectural caliber but they do the job.

Its a fairly cheap school, so finding minimal financial aid is pretty easy.

Provo is a great little, big town. There are plenty of things to do. And with recent bands like Imagine Dragons and Neon Trees coming out of Provo the music scene is booming.

The honor code really creates an atmosphere of responsibility. Students are encouraged to be responsible for their actions and adhere to a strict code of conduct. For the most part most students do well at keeping the honor code.

There are plenty of options besides driving. There are several public transit options that are reasonable priced and convenient.

For my major (neuroscience) it wasn't that hard. But there are some majors where it is terribly competitive to get in.

I've never seen it. When you go to a religious school you don't have to worry about these things as much.

Health & Safety:
I feel safe on campus and the security is present on campus and I have never felt worried at anytime at all.

Parking is free but you need to watch where you park. Parking enforcement on campus and off campus is stringent and I've paid my share of parking tickets.
If you work hard you get a scholarship for good grades on the already inexpensive tuition. Living expenses aren't bad at all either. So there is plenty of funding.

Housing tends to be older around campus but there are plenty of options around so you get what you pay for.

Health & Safety:
I have never felt unsafe on or near BYU campus. They say nothing bad ever happens in Utah, and relative to where I'm from in southern California, that is true.

BYU has computer labs in every building on campus, so you can basically find a computer anytime you want. However, the wireless network isn't very reliable.

BYU is well known for its world class library, you can seriously find anything you could possibly want to assist you in your studies.

BYU has a great site that offers awesome information about all off-campus housing that makes it a really easy decision about where you want to stay.
College Sophomore 2013-08-13T05:53:31Z
BYU has a great student atmosphere with excellent facilites and world class professors with at a relatively low cost.
College Senior 2013-08-12T17:28:16Z
There is a wide variety of dining around BYU campus. Some places closer to BYU have student discounts if you bring your ID card with you. There are other dining places that require a drive, but it's all delicious! Prices are reasonable depending on where you go, and locations are very convenient.
College Senior 2013-08-12T17:18:22Z
BYU's campus is small enough to make it easy to walk anywhere on campus. You can also ride your bike. There are many apartments within walking distance as well, which is convenient. The problem with transportation is if you are driving because parking at BYU feels limited. Parking spaces fill up fast and sometimes it takes hours to find a parking spot.

Guys & Girls:
The people at BYU are quite attractive as a whole. They are well groomed and clean cut, as well as modest. As a whole, BYU students are well rounded and come from all over the world. Students of different cultures come together at BYU. Lots of people believe students come to BYU to get their "MR." degree or "MRS." degree (which is true for some), but BYU students mostly come for the education and for the social experiences.

I actually met with a financial adviser at BYU to discuss my financial aid and the adviser was very helpful. I think that as long as students fill out their fafsa and ask questions when they are unsure about something they will find help where needed. If a student doesn't ask for help though, he or she will receive nothing.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
