I usually eat at the same places: Subway, Taco Bell, Quiznos, Jamba Juice etc... There are a lot of options but they are not always in locations that people commonly travel. If you are willing to look you can find ANYTHING you could ever want.

Public transportation can get you just about anywhere you need to go. Busses are frequent and there's even a train that will take you to Salt Lake City. The busses don't run very late, however, and don't run at all on Sundays. Also, student semester passes are pretty expensive (about $200).

The dating culture being what it is here, there are many restaurant options ranging from popular chains (Red Robin and Applebees) to ethnic options (Black Sheep- Navajo food, Spicy Thai, Bombai House, etc.) and homegrown favorites (Zupas, Gurus). Wide variety of price ranges available, many participate in starving student discount card. Not many deliver of their own accord, but there are third party services that will pick up and deliver food for you for a small charge.

Parking is free, but almost all lots require a hike to campus, and you can spend upwards of 45 minutes looking for a spot if you don't get there at 6 am. It's more time efficient to take a bus to campus, especially as they are looking to transition to a walking campus.

Health & Safety:
I pretty much never feel unsafe on campus. Only if I'm walking home super super late at night do I feel the slightest bit unsafe - but that's more just my own paranoia. But you also make friends who will definitely walk you home, or make sure you get there safe!

I love my housing complex - however, I know of a few that aren't great. Some really just need to be updated. Or, as a friend of mine says, "all of south of campus needs to be bull-dozed and re-built."

BYU is very strict about following the honor code. Most students really appreciate that, because that is what we all agreed to following when we came here. There are certain expectations that need to be met in order to attend a University like BYU.

There is housing all around campus. Typically the price is moderate, but you can search for good deals. Living south of campus is a great option because that is where the majority of students live.

Brigham Young University has some pretty cool sports. Out teams are pretty good. Also, if you have an all sports pass, then you can go see any game you want.

The Cannon center is a great place to eat as a freshman because it offers so many options. However, it does get old after a little while.

They've actually got some pretty good transportation options these days. There's a campus shuttle service that runs to three of the major off-campus housing locations. They have Hertz Rent-A-Car at all the dorms. And you can get along in Provo without a car just by taking the bus. Campus parking isn't great, but it's doable. Walking gets pretty cold in the winter but, you know, it's Utah...

BYU is great because the tuition is nice and low, so government financial aid will cover most of tuition. Also, there are some good scholarships available. I was able to get plenty of funding the whole time I was here. Check with your department/college to see what scholarships there are available. I actually applied for one, and I didn't get it, but someone on the selection committee noticed that I was from California and directed me to a different scholarship based on that, which I was awarded. So there's more options than you think, and you could probably talk to your adviser about it.

The editing program is so fantastic. You gain so many good skills, marketable, and it really gave me the opportunity to build on each of my experiences and now I'm headed off to a really prestigious grad program and hopefully a fulfilling career.

There are a wide range of majors at Brigham Young University. All classes are taught be qualified professors. For the most part class sizes are small and the professors are friendly and approachable.

The housing has and is improving. Prices are on the expensive side though. Recently new housing has been created.

Brigham Young University has prepared me well for future endeavors. It is consistently ranked on the higher end of the spectrum for academics.

Most housing is within walking distance. Transportation is rarely needed. Parking is however limited.

Not a lot of racial or religious diversity here! Majority of people are white Mormons.

Very strong academic program. Consistently ranked high in nation for challenging academics and good professors. Classes are challenging.

There is a lot of places pretty close to campus and a lot of styles to choose from. It all has to be BYU approved though so all the housing units are really strict sometimes to a fault.
College Sophomore 2013-03-11T17:54:28Z
It doesn't have a bunch of variety and they don't really accommodate for alternative diets and allergies.
College Sophomore 2013-03-11T17:51:46Z
On one hand being strict is good because you don't see hardly any drugs or alcohol on the other hand I feel like I am being babysat sometimes. I don't like that guys can't come into our rooms, I feel like they don't trust us to do the right thing so they enforce some of these weird arbitrary rules.
College Sophomore 2013-03-11T17:49:37Z
There isn't much parking on campus but I don't think it is as bad as most people here claim. Still it is usually just easier to walk or ride a bike if you live close enough.
College Sophomore 2013-03-11T17:46:25Z
Pretty good and a nice variety. You can get most ethnic food except really good Mexican food (but I am from southern California so I am picky).

The Psychology program here is great! All of the professors are willing to assist in any way they can to help you get research experience. They also help you to know what steps you need to take in order to look good on your grad school applications.
