The Sports are not great on campus, most students are busy studying, but the ones that go are super enthusiastic. The programs do well in their respective fields for the most part, but they are far from the best.

Getting financial aid is pretty difficult at BYU the majority of the scholarships go to sports or people with an A- or better GPA. Talking with the people financial counselors on campus is helpful, but they generally suggest getting a job or an internship.

While the off-campus dining lacks good chinese, japanese, and thai food, it has just about everything else you could ever want.

I feel like there are always opportunities to network, to meet professionals, and to gain real world experience in your field of interest. I am in advertising so the BYU AdLab is a major deal. We work with real clients on real ads and there are only a few schools out there who have a working onsite advertising agency

Working Macs and PCs available to all students. There are multiple printers and print labs in every building. There are minor problems when the printers are not working but they are really good at fixing them.

The computer labs are helpful, but can get crowded and full during end-of semester crunch time. Printing on campus isn't that expensive, and the network reliability and speed is okay. It would be better to have your own computer and printer so you don't have to wait in case a computer lab is full.

Guys & Girls:
The guys and girls are both typically very smart, fun, and attractive. They are often interested in sports, dance, music, and the outdoors. They usually dress modestly and conservatively. Social life usually consists of BYU-sponsored events (sporting events, concerts, performances, dances, on-campus parties) and LDS ward activities. Provo is about 45 minutes from Salt Lake, and the Wasatch front is pretty metropolitan, so there are a lot of fun things to do outside of school and church activities for young college-age students.

I personally don't have a car and I get along fine.

Consider students that don't have as high of a GPA

There is a wide variety of housing in Provo, it is essentially a college city so there many options available that day in proximity, cost, parking, amenities, etc.

Health & Safety:
I have never felt unsafe at BYU and there is VERY little crime. Crimes generally happen when people are too trusting and leave their stuff where they shouldn't. There are plenty of officers around campus.

It is based on the scholastic excellence, also it is very concerned about your spiritual welfare. So you will get the best of your academical education, through the many classes and programs provided by each major. BYU creates a culture of study and play in the right amounts to not only to prepare yourself for future jobs/situations but creates bonds with other students and teachers that will last a life time.

Education is very important here and to have a great education, you have to have great teachers, facilities, study areas, resources, and activities. BYU has maximized in everyone of these areas. There are many areas for good study, there is a great variety of athletic activities not only to watch, but to participate in such as intramural sports. You can't ever be bored while you are here on campus.

BYU has a good number of Campus things most of which are pretty well known locally and some are very highly praise, I don't eat at places like that even though they are well priced. I have really enjoyed them when I have eaten at them.
College Freshman 2013-02-10T19:50:59Z
BYU has enough variety to keep it interesting. There are cheap and quick places to give you options for a more regular basis with a good number of more high quality places to provide for the needs for nicer events.

There are some international students, but generally it is mostly a bunch of white people.
Mostly LDS students.
However, in general, people are open and accepting.

Being an LDS person in a LDS community is wonderful. I came from northern Michigan where there are virtually no Mormons. It is so much safer here!!! While that doesn't mean that you can be totally off guard while walking around at 4am, it is so much safer than any place I've ever been.
College Sophomore 2013-02-05T23:30:39Z
There are SO many international students here at BYU and I love meeting them all.

August and the beginning of September is a REALLY hot time. The winters aren't usually too bad but this winter has been especially cold. It is really dry so someone with more sensitive skin (or from a humid climate like me) will have to stock up on the lotion! Overall it's good weather though :)

Great program. Challenging, but great hook ups for job opportunities after graduating.
College Junior 2013-02-01T22:25:13Z
It is great! They are all very willing to work with you in trying to find the fastest and best way for you to graduate. The professors are great (of course you may find a few that you personally don't get along with, but that is with everything in life).

If you are not there at around 7:30am to park, there is little chance you'll get one. You'll just have to drive around and hope there is someone leaving so that you can park.
If you have a motorcycle, you'll have NO problems.
College Junior 2013-02-01T22:20:10Z
TONS of choices! Panda Express, Taco Bell, Burger King, Mongos Grill, etc etc.
There are LOTS of places to go and lots of things to eat! You'll always be able to find what you feel like eating.
College Junior 2013-02-01T22:19:03Z
BYU doesn't have a huge "nightlife". There are things to do, and places to go. However, we're all Mormons....
College Junior 2013-02-01T22:17:33Z
LOTS of choices on campus. Subway, Teriaki sticks, Tacobell, etc. There are also lots of snacks and healthy choices that BYU offers!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
