It has a really good curriculum. Some classes have tons or workload but its doable. Has good opportunities to find internships and research opportunities with proffesors.

It is really nice during the summer, but It gets really bad when it snows because you have to walk from class to class outside in the cold and snow. Sidewalks get frozen and you might fall sometimes.

Guys & Girls:
Guys are average looking even though you might find some hot looking ones but most of them are very nice. They are great guys with good morals. Most live their lives by serving others and trying to live be good examples.

There are not enough buses or routes going to other cities south of Provo. The times that these buses run are not convenient. You can't stay late at school because the buses stop going south really early and there are no routes on saturday or sunday.

I love my program. It's very liberating to study the beautiful things other people have created and to try to understand them through those things.
There are a lot of opportunities for internships on campus.

I love my program! It's a compilation of everything I love: art history, literature, architecture, film, music, theater etc. It's studying people through what they have created.
My career goals switch a lot. I want to do something with art like maybe curatorial or appraisal but I imagine that will require a Masters degree (still thinking). I also like writing though, so maybe working for some sort of publication about art?
I am concerned that I won't find a good job, or that I will have to go into a lot of debt to get further education to get a good job.

During the winter it gets extremely cold and snows a lot. They haven't cancelled class for the weather since I've been here, so it doesn't affect school that way. It does affect walking to school though. It's very frustrating. I hate being cold. But I don't blame the school. In fact, they do a great job of clearing the walkways and stairs of snow before people come to campus for the day.

I haven't had an internship but I want to do one within the next few semesters. There are a few on campus that I am looking at. They seem to be fairly competitive, but there are tons of other ones too that don't look too competitive. I hope I can get one.

My program was open enrollment, so it's not difficult to get in. There was a prerequisite class before I could declare, but it wasn't difficult. Also, you have to meet with a counselor before you can declare. I liked that though because they help you nail down what you want to get out of your experience. This was especially helpful because my program is very broad.

It is very strict. You have to live up to certain regulations. However it is a good thing, it prepares you for the future and helps you realize what is important / needed in life. Alcohol, drugs, etc... they keep you away from those things that can so easily ruin your life.

BYU has the best teachers and is really the best place to work. It is competitive but very open and willing to work with you.
The only problem is it a little stuck in a bubble.

declaring a major is rather easy. it is just a matter of taking entrance tests to get into the different programs, ie business.

Parking is becoming limited due to new buildings being built. best if you can walk or ride a bike to campus.

campus housing is generally for incoming freshman. BYU now has a lot of new dorms in Deseret Towers and Helaman Halls have been remodels in recent years.

I didn't have any problems with getting financial aid. Just realize it is your money and you are responsible for it...do what you need to make sure it doesn't fall through the cracks.

The computer labs at BYU are usually crowded during midterms and finals. Most people do have their own lap tops with WiFi. it is definitely better to have your own.

You can find what you want, usually slightly over priced.

There are a lot of fun places to eat at here in Provo. Because it is a smaller town everything is pretty much within walking distance. A lot of places also give student discounts on top of already cheap prices. Provo is great because everything is incredibly convenient and very young-adult friendly. It's a great social atmosphere at a lot of the places as well.

Varsity Sports at BYU are always high intensity and a great place to unwind and cheer for your school. BYU has a wide variety of sports to watch that you can almost always find something that will interest you. We often have special school spirit activities to show our support. There are also certain events at which we all dress in the same color to show fan support. BYU varsity sports will always bring excitement into your life.

Living in Utah a lot of students are faced with all kinds of whether. No matter the conditions classes are generally never canceled. During the Winter it can be extremely cold with lots of snow fall which makes walking to and from classes more challenging but the campus is immaculate during the peak of each season. Spring through Fall semesters are absolutely gorgeous and the whether is pretty warm. Not until Winter does it get cold.

The Mechanical Engineering program at BYU is intensive and requires much effort. However, this should not drive anyone away from it. It offers a top quality education and a well known university. The type of education you receive only prepares you for the future and so the difficult objectives that are required to meet are indeed difficult but very much worth it.

My program is in the science department and I love it. BYU has a great program for general courses each student must take. Their goal is to make sure each student is well rounded in all aspects which made my major classes more beneficial. I was able to really understand most aspects of physics in a better way because I had taken general classes to help give me a better understanding of the world around me.

I have not yet had an internship, however, I do plan on getting one. I feel it is important to get an internship for the work experience and getting your name out there to those who are in positions of hiring you. Even if the internship wasn't paid, I feel it would be of great worth to complete because there is no price on getting a job after college. I have worked in trades before such as commercial construction. I really enjoy the feeling of seeing the progress of a building and knowing you had a hand in it.

BYU has many diverse and determined professors. Their goal is not to pass you; they want to challenge your mind and make you think independently. There are so many campus activities like clubs, dances and other events that create a fun atmosphere for the students. BYU does a great job of forcing you to get to know other people. Because this school has so much history, there are many great traditions as well. Every year during homecoming there are fun activities like dances, comedy shows and even a slip n' slide covered in blue foam! There are so many great opportunities at this school.

I really enjoy my major Mechanical Engineering. Ever since I was a child, I have been good (in my mind) at math and sciences. I first heard of the Engineering field in middle school and thought that looks like a lot of math and science, maybe its for me. Since then I have done a lot of research into the different fields of engineering and feel like Mechanical is the one I am most interested in. I would love to work in the oil industry if possible, but my career goal in general is to get a good paying job which I will enjoy. The oil industry is not the only field that will fulfill this requirement. I am a little concerned that the field of Mechanical Engineering is so broad that I might end up somewhere that I do not particularly enjoy.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
